Some of our best friends are former neighbors and after only being in my current home for about 6 months, I am confident that these neighbors are going to be lifelong friends as well. 

I have been blessed to always have great neighbors but, I also believe that BEING a good neighbor goes a long way in developing those lifelong friendships.

I cannot say that I have the same experience and share the same joy you speak of, Richie.   Cheers to you and your neighbor(s). 

Part of the reason might be because I live in a condo community.  I shall leave it at that and keep the light shinning on all the GOOD in the world. 

We have been lucky with great neighbors. The neighbors we have right now beside and across the street are the best I just hope it stays that way. 

Sadly, I would not rely upon neighbors.

Some of my closest friends, past and present are my neighbors. My bride hangs out with one of our neighbors twice per week and they go for walks and to the mall and coffee together.  I've helped neighbors with their cars, DIY and even administered daily shots to one neighbors sick dog. My bride became a hospice care giver for our favorite neighbor Sunny, in her 99th year. Amazing to have good neighbors.

Yes, my neighbors are great.  Used to work with them back in my hosptial days.  I'm also the "go to guy" in my neighborhood for disaster info and when to evacuate.  LOL.

I'm not sure what you mean as you are a wise man in most matters. I have been lucky with good neighbors that would help me & others that are worthless. You know the ones that you cannot count on for whatever reason.

I know there is those who live next door but I'm not sure that is the same as neighbor. So very many can not name those who accupay every door they see from the front of their house.
As Debbie shares good neighbors come from being a good neighbor.
That means a willingness to help, tolerance and concern. 
In todays enviroment, saying 'You look good today' can lead to a world of hurt.
How many of us have the neighborliness, upon hearing the tools running, we would walk to the garage door and ask, "What are you making?"
Why would we NEVER do that? Is that true?

Hi Richie - we met our neighbors in Delray Beach on the day we were looking at what was to become our home. They became our extended family in Florida. We have been lucky in every home we've been in!

You are blessed to have such caring people around you Richie. We live in a rural area, where neighbors have space, with less in your face interactions. It works for all!

I really miss my neighbors (moved 2.5 years ago) and go and visit them often.  My current neighbors are much older and don't get out.

We're very blessed to have great neighbors. It is one of the reasons we don't want to move. 

I have lived in places where I knew all the neighbors, some good some bad. We have been in place for 3 years and only met the neighbor next door because of a common element issue. So, never have had the Richie experience.
