Remember the Jimmy Carter "Malaise"?  That will pale in comparison to what the people behind Joe Biden will do to the economy.  Increasing gas prices are only the beginning.

Gas was $1.80 a gallon here before the election when the USA WAS energy independent. Now we are a buck higher that all the pipelines & drilling have been halted. There is probably no end in sight to the increases, but some how this is what everyone voted for?????

I have seen on TV and heard on the radio many reports of escalating gas prices. I, of course, have seen them at the pump also. The only saving grace, as weird as it may be, is that the pandemic has caused me to do much less driving than normal. My gasoline expense for the last year has been way down.

Kevin- higher gas prices are not a result of the pandemic but what happened on November 3, 2020. Yes in Texas we are seeing higher gas prices. Those who may just be getting back to work or have jobs may not be able to afford to get there now and yet those who have the means fly around in jets, etc.  Don't get me started.

History has shown that when gas reaches $4 a gallon with the PROMISE of staying there the consumer starts making hard decisions.

Today, cheap fuel due to energy independance allowed citizens to choose the ride in which they felt safest as our leaders made the roadways more hazardous.
At what price per gallon will you be compelled to go battery or smaller? There just might be an AGENDA behind high fuel costs.
Be aware, EVERYTHING is going to become more expensive. Being the progressive socieity we are, I am certain everyone will be cared for, much like those dogs the Humane Socieity flew from Korea to the USA so they could find a forever home.

yes I too have been shocked at the pump. Here in IL we are approaching $3/gallon any second now. I don't know why a pandemic would effect gas prices personally.

The snow storm in TX did effect them I guess.

I always put $25. in on each trip to the gas station...so no increase for me. 😉

Joking aside, "it is what it is" and I'm more than willing to pay the price to keep from walking 5 to 20 miles a day (light travel just for now).

yes I've noticed.  It was their plan afterall.  Make it too expensive.... but wonder if they know that the price jumping up makes fracking more popular.

Add to the rising price of the fuel itself, my state of Washington is talking about adding an additional 30¢ fuel tax to save the climate... as if that's going to help.  We already have the 3rd highest fuel tax in the nation, trailing only Pennsylvania and California.  67.8¢

How does your state stack up?

Kevin J. May One of my car's requires premium, which went from $2.399/gallon to $3.439/gallon since late January.

And, my other car uses regular, which went from $1.999/gallon to $2.919/gallon in the same time period.

Considering I live about 60 miles from what was my main market area (120 miles round trip, plus $6.00 in tolls), I've relocated my office to 2.2 miles from my home and I'll try to develop some business locally, if possible.

This going to be a rough ride (no pun intended).

Kevin I won't even get started. It is crazy here I would like to know how it can go up 9-11 cent a litre overnight ($1.35 L) when the price of a barrel stays the same. We are paying over $5 a gallon for regular grade I have no idea what premium grade would be.

The price of fuel makes harder scrutiny of the trips you take using it. How much you slurp, what is guk guk guk siphoned off at the gas pumps. Was the trip necessary, could you combine them? Tiime management goes hand in hand with fuel consumption. The sad fact is transportation is the 2nd largest industry our country has and jacking up the gallon of gas, diesel, LP just means you and I get higher priced goods and services
