You will not get quality in all aspects if you buy a printer, fax, scanner combo.. I had several and they are a PITA.
Brother is a workhorse. I have a laser HL 5370 DW. Purchased in 2012 and it still serves me. I also have a newer Brother color laser. The laser uses toner not ink. Toner cartridges last a very long time. Ink. Does. Not.
Scanner - Fujitsu fi-5015c - another workhorse still going strong since 2012. We pay more for quality products that last.
Invest in your business with quality products.

I have been very pleased with my Brother "MFC" printer. Document feed and flat bed scanner, copier, fax (I've actually used that twice) and of course printing.
It's a laser printer, ink lasts a long time. I buy off-brand refills and save some $ there.

This may surprise you. Canon Pixma $39 shop Target or online. The printer is cheap and look for one that adds extra in cartridge in the deal. Ink is EXPENSIVE and refilling ink messy and not the best quality. Donate the printer on freecycle or to a school or... when the ink runs out as ink refill is about $34. It's not a green solution, it's not good for adding plastics to the world. When you want to make heavy stock flyers for property have a printer do it and results are superior to DIY. The cheap printer scans and makes a copy here and there. In my work I went from mountains of printed paper to paperless two years ago. I have a pro make mailers, that's the only thing I print.

Printer ink costs more than Dom Perignon champagne. That's why they sell the printers so cheap... they make up for it on the ink refills. I just spent $100 for a set of color refills for my HP Office Jet Pro.

I like my HP Office Pro 8625. Yes the ink is expensive but you can find good ink elsewhere for far less. I always balked at Lazer because of the cost if toner

We like our HPENVY 4250. We have an ink subscription for $3.25 a month, and they know when to send you more ink, so it takes the high cost of ink away, and it is an ink jet. A

We have a Brother All-in-one that'll do everything we need including print to file, scanning up to 20 pages per file and email. I believe with a $30 coupon it ended up bring less than $200 and fit an entire ream of paper in its tray. Letter, legal and ledger all fit the glass and copy edge to edge no problem. 3rd party toner cartridges usually run 15 to 18 bucks and give about 7,000 pages.

We've had a Cannon Maxify MB 5420 for several years. It's an ink jet. We do as little printing as we can as our files are paperless. But, when we need it it's a work horse. Pretty sure it was around 350 or so.

Love my Canon ImageClass MF4350d laser printer.
Had it for, at least 8-10 years - not one issue with it.
The only thing is, I never change the cartridge when it says to do so - there's always a lot of life left. I always wait for it to stop printing correctly.
I had an HP before, only problems.

I recently purchased an Epson Workforce Pro WF-4820. When I compared it to every other printer in this price range it had more features and better reviews than any other. It was a tall order because it replaced my old Brother MFC-J825DW which I truly loved.
So far the Espon has excelled at everything I have tried. It has both wired and wireless ethernet, prints double sided, has a 35 page auto doc feed and handles card stock flawlessly.
I seldom get excited about the tools I use everyday, but I highly recommend the WF-4820 (or it's big brother the 4830). It is a good one.

I have an Epson WF 3520, it's an inkjet print/scan/fax. Believe it or not, I've not set it up yet after about 2 years! Why? Well someone might think that I'm "frugal" but there is a reason for that. I'm 10 minutes or less from my office. Even though the last year I've worked mostly from home, I go nuts not meeting live people for a few days so off to my office I go. Besides, in my monthly office package, I can print for "free".

We have used several different All in One inkjets, they all seem to be about the same. They get the job done, they are cheap, and the ink is always more expensive than the machine.

I thought I'd need to replace my HP officejet pro 8600 - but then my husband took it out to the shop, where he has a compressor. Cleaning it with air blew out a LOT of dust and now it works just fine.

If you are pinting 500+ a week, go Laser.
If less that 500 a week go INK.
HIGH quaily prints using INK often are PRO machines that have many more inks than the traditional CMYK.
My recommndation is the buy the EPSON or BROTHER in the isle at Best Buy or Staples for the lowest price.
Because I needed wide format I had to be patient and wait for the right machine to be offered at $250. (that is a good price for a wide format printer)
After the warranty expires I switch to 3rd party inks. Of course one can beat or overcome the cost of ink by buying a 'tanker' model. Refill inks are very low in cost. It requires more patience to catch the 'tankers' in the isles. Since they can't get you with ink costs, they keep the price of the machines too high.
