Timeshares have a specific application that fits a few people well. Unfortunately very high pressure sales people do thier best to force people into them that have no business being in them.

      You will be lucky to get back 10 cents on the dollar if you try to sell it.  You will be walloped with ever-increasing fees.  In Florida, you may not be able to give it away (true fact, people don't want the financial liability).

Owning and operating a timeshare is a profitable business in high demand locations but seasonal. I have a REALTOR* friend that owns the propoerties in Maui & Costa Rica.

Now, time shares that you buy (subscribe) into, I'd never do one-I want to go when I want to go and go where I want to go;

but my sister owns 3 and uses them anually and loves them in Hawaii, Lake Tahoe and one floater useable anywhere in the world.

The advantage is getting rid of them, the disadvantage is how hard it is to get rid of them.

I would not recommend a timeshare purchase.

They are very difficult to sell and the costs of ownership will continue to rise.

It allos some an easy way to vacation. The costs though are often higher than just renting there. If you have the cash laying around to buy it, it may be good, but financing a time share is usually never good.

We inherited a time share. It's a great way to guarantee an inexpensive vacation.

My advice is to stay away from Timeshares, they are not worth the headache.
