4, 2, 1 in that order.

We don't have a shelter in place order but we are staying put. I do go out for supplies but only drastic need (food for Luna was the only time) gets me into a crowded store. I also go out for exercise and no one is getting near anyone where there are people at all.

I did not have showings at all last week for me, but a property did get shown and written on. Hopefully a deal!

Calls are coming in . . . but no one's asking to view this past week which is fine by me. I would probably want to put those viewings off another week. Let's see what happens.

All the casinos have signs that say in essence, WE'LL BE BACK
The Riverside (oldest and most famous) sign says 30 DAYS. many of them are combo disinfecting and renovating. They are gonna be ready when humans can stay and play again!

I'll just be glad when $%^&*() HOARDERS cut that shiz out. You can't eat TP, morons. And the online stores are cracking down on gougers. Notice that most of those supplies are shipping from Indonesia?

Kind of a mixture of #1, #2, #4 and #5. I will go out on a buyer/seller appointment if somebody are asking me for my services, otherwise I'm staying home.

#1 for me. In reference to #4 I never needed to "catch-up" as I was always on top of digital marketing.

It's interesting and a debate I've been having with people in another forum.  In California, real estate agents are the ONLY part of the transaction that is not considered an "essential" service.  Escrow, attornies, title, county recorders and even tradesmen inspectors are all considered essential.  Just not the people who bring buyers and sellers together so the rest have something to do.

Go to Nevada and their state's association fought to make agents essential.  California did not.  Shows how little regard they have for us.  Either that, or as one person postulated, we have so many selfish agents who would disregard the rules and have open houses that they had no choice but to not fight for us and essentially issue a "stand down" order, that even applies to the general public (not that they have ANY legal rights or authority over the public).  But I digress....

So my business model is 99% vacant homes with a little bit of buyers, owner occupied and rental management thrown in, plus I work from home.  So for me, it's business as usual for the most part.  Prudent protective measures would be put into place should the absolute urgent need to be out showing homes arise.  Contracts can be done remotely and I can do everything for selling a home remotely, with the exception of taking pictures... if the home is vacant that's not a problem/concern.

In CT, RE is one of the "essential" services; guess for people that need shelter. We are very close to New York City, a vacation lake area for some and sick people have been coming out to the less-densely populated areas to shelter. In the Hamptons on Long Island, for example, all properties (price no issue) have been snapped up by wealthy city residents. That should not be an activity that should be promoted; it exports the virus.

1.5 I really do not consider it essential other than for closings already scheduled. We are sheltering in place here in IL. We are considered essential in IL.

I have a chance to show homes today & I haven't figured out what I am going to do.

Real estate is not listed as an "essential business" on any list that I have see for the San Francisco Bay Area.

I am reaching out to the people on my contact list. Many of them are working from home, out of work, caring for children who would otherwise be in school.

When lawfully permitted.....

Buyer came into town 3 days BEFORE lock-down and lodged at the Sheraton. Will be leaving for Top Secret DOD stuff in 2 days. Old house sold, needs a place to return to. "Find me a house."

'I' will find him a house."

After viewing all available public information regarding the for sale property..

To the listing agents and seller I describe how the tour will be conducted and the measures that will be taken to completely sterilize every location in the house visited.

It will be 'their call."

View as many as possible then refine the selection after buyer has left but still in communication.

#5. Set the pieces in place to achieve two objectives.....anticipate +60 days and focus on 'THE ONE."

As long as I keep my cell phone battery charged, my laptop on and respond nothing has changed. All Real Estate will be subject to physical inspection but offers, disclosures and Q & A is on! Buyers are saying we should have bought & sellers are saying we should have sold. I will help them with these regrets

California does not recognize homes sales as essential business as of today.  No homes can be shown according to the Governor's dictate.  The CAR California Association of Realtors is appealing this ruling.

Home is where the hearth is.

for me, it's a hybrid of #1.

It's not really "business as usual"... but I still have anxious buyers and even more anxious sellers...  I try to keep my distance, but the ocassional showing is required.  And when it is... six-foot distance... hand sanitizer, booties and gloves... sellers leave the lights on, doors open.. and I wipe down the handrails when we're done.

5 other.  Depends on the situation at hand.  Who the buyer is, are they moving here or looking for a weekend house.  And of course we are working hard to get those that were in progress to the closing table as quickly as possible.

Where in the Federal guidelines do you see that residential real estate sales is an essential business?
