For robo-posters, it's a no brainer. Quality of posts is most important for many and can accomplished in 300 words or less when posting daily, bi-weekly, several times a week or weekly.

quality for me. I am not a fan of those 50 word photo posters but it's their blog not mine.

I have heard this debate for so many years, and many of those who argue in favor of quality do not really post anything that is of higher quality than the average.
I say post some for reading, some for google, and it all balances out.

I see many quality posts. I am familiar with certain AR members whose post are frequent and worth reading. I am aware of some who auto-post and are worthless. Quality and frequency may not go hand-in-hand but they are not mutually exclusive, either.

Everyone has a different goal and while it seems that overall ActiveRain traffic may have decreased from its peak(whenever that may have been). There are many examples of quality and quantity posters still in existence. Some combine both. Others are hit/miss. The "follow"aspect here is good but it can be limiting at times but discovering previously unknown-to-me post/posters is one of the many surprises of membership.

Personally, I believe quality is important and takes precedence over quantity. It is possible to be a frequent poster and still maintain quality? I suppose it's possible....
One only needs to point to Kathy Streib, or Liz and Bill Spear to see examples of those who post regularly, consistently, and still maintain quality... but I think it's difficult and requires serious discipline that many do not have.

Quality is in the eye of the reader. There were a few that pumped out quantity without thought of quality

So my question for ARMS is have you increased posts in the Q&A Section because you are afraid of a drop in activity due to the change in collecting points?
If so, is this an example of quantity over quality? I do not mean to imply that you are not asking good questions, but aren't you curious to see what happens organically as a result of the point change.
I for one, am glad that the "only for points" questions and answers have receded.

Are you referring to the quality of THIS question or the entire body of work ARMS has published?
Maybe you are asking about those who blog everyday? It is a mystery to me.
I would challenge you to present what you call/define as 'consistant quality' and juxtaposed that with what creates a flowing and readership. Too often these do not walk the same path. And certainly they do not and I would suggest should not have the same intended outcome.

Thank you Alan May for your kind words.
To: ARMS
There is one reason why I post daily and that's is for my own self-discipline and a commitment I made to myself years ago after one of those 30 in 30 posts. That said, I make every effort to write something every day that others may find fun and interesting.
I find this and the vast majority of posts here far more interesting than the copy and paste posts that while interesting are just that...copy and paste words from some other source.

I like to think that I have quality blogs...but they are not frequent.
I am slow and it takes me too long to say something interesting and still have good grammer.
For SEO purposes the length needs to be longer, and longer, and longer...

1. I don't see how repetitive useless dreck accomplishes much of anything except to annoy the readers. I would not hire that 'author' for anything.
2. Sure, if you are a good writer with lots of imagination/knowledge!

ARMS,
I think that we post quality both in fun posts as well as our branding and marketing posts. It often takes me over an hour for those posts to make sure I said it perfectly. A

I used to think it was ALL about quality REAL ESTATE posts but, then I began getting regular comments about 'having gotten to know me' on my blog (which is this one). I don't mind a bit doing boring market reports which are particularly interesting to me but, to no one else!
And, I don't mind sharing my fur baby stories, stories about things that happen in this business, etc. It's an opportunity for people to get to know me and what's right for me, may not be right for others.

Quality. Typically it's only possible to deliver quantity and quality with a writer on your team, be it part-time contract work or whatever. Kind of hard to post quality in quantity when you're successfully selling real estate IMHO.
