Again, this is just reticules to me Annette Lawrence , Palm Harbor, FL 727-420-4041 . If I had a Seller that Loony Tunes I'd either tell them to pull the home off the market until this blows over OR ask them to find a RE agent as paranoid as themselves... it ain't me babe .

I would recommend that the listing agent make sure all parties are briefed prior to the showings so buyers and their agent can decide what is best for them.

If I represent the buyer, I don't care what the seller is wearing (as long as all appropriate parts are covered).

If the buyer is uncomfortable walking into the house, I'd explain to the buyer that we can skip the house, or talk to the seller's agent about viewing the house at a time when the sellers are not home.  If neither of those options is acceptable, I would ask the buyer what he recommends and go from there.

What's PPE?

No doubt it would raise concerns that might not have existed for the buyers.

I would not enter such a house and I suspect most visitors would also be driven away.

In order to sell for the best results, the seller should move out permanently.

I think that the seller should not have been there in their hazmat outfits. Are they contagious? They are saying they are in a way aren't they? Agent should have handled it better.

Just paranoid foolery.

I would ask if they could go on vacation for a bit or visit friends during showing times.  I would also offer to be there if that would make them more comfortable.  Hazmat outfits would definitely be off limits.  I do like number one, though, wait til it all blows over, if there can be no compromise.

Annette I am totally with Bob "RealMan" Timm .  If the family has an autoimmune deficiency then they shouldn't be selling their home at this time of uncertainty.

Wow! What a vsual that presents Annette. I'd wait until all this blows over...it seems like #3 is the result of poor communication or sellers are prone to mass hysteria.

After I stopped laughing I'd explain to my clients that it's most likely this home is squeaky clean. I'd suggest we definitely look at the home, but ignore the sellers and agent who will probably be watching to see if we touch any surfaces.

It would be a strange showing for sure.

I would pull the buyers aside and warn them not to say anything or listen to anyting as it could hurt them. Then i would encourage the buyers to walk away. If the buyers want to proceed i would demand the listing agent exit the house, as i have an appointment with the house not the listing agent. The i would pump the sellers for as much information as possible, which is a pretty lot if handled correctly. Afterwards i would give the listing agent piece of my mind for not warning me ahead of time.Listing agents at a showing is a huge disservice to the sellers because buyers can not bring up objections for their agent to negate. This leaves the buyers with unanswered question and objections that are harder to work through after leaving the house. Plus, if the listing agent is this controlling from the start then they are likely to try and micro-manage the entire deal.

Before even entering, I would confront the agent about this and find out why it was being done.  If agent is wearing because Sellers are being isolated, then the showing would be called off.  if they are being silly, then ask them to step out while you show the house.  It is too distracting and unneverving for Buyers to deal with that; they won't focus on the house.  If the Sellers are that big of germaphobes, they then shouldn't let anyone in the house until this paranoia blows over.  Simply an opinion....

I would explain to my clients that this might be a property and homeowner that might not make the best transaction.  I'd suggest moving on unless they are madly in love with the house.  I wouldn't communicate with the homeowners or agent unless an offer was forthcoming.

If the family were that protected, I would probably think they were sick and would be inclined not to go in as the current virus seems to be aptly spread by surfaces and it's hard not to touch anything.
