Am I missing something? 

More Americans die from influenza than from coronavirus but we don't cancel school, stockpile hand santizer, or close theme parks. 

More pedestrians die in one city each year than the number of people who have died from the coronavirus in the entire country.  Yet, we continue to walk places.

I could go on and on with examples.  Yes, coronavirus is a problem.  Yes, our country's response to it is even worse.  But is the best solution really for everyone to hole up in their houses and not have contact with the outside world?

That makes the assumption that every student has access to high speed internet and is capable of being self-disciplined enough to do their work.

Online education has been a growing trend. This may put a new focus on that option in public schools... not just in the short term but long term as well. That could be a very good thing. 

Just remember:

Ridiculous & paranoid. Close the whole district because 1 person is sick.

    This Coronavirus is being blown out of proportion by the Globalists (and their Dem lackeys).  They are desperate to stop the Populist movement that is sweeping the Western world (Brexit, MAGA, Yellow Vests, etc.).  They know that FEAR is the easiest way to control the masses.  Sure, CV is a deadly disease, but so are the common cold and influenza, which kill far more people than Coronavirus.  

I like online classes, and in person classes, good that we have both options.

It is certainly better than cancelled classes which need to be made up in summer.

Watch remote programming for all types of education explode.

The country of Italy has shut down all their schools, out of an over abundance of caution today.  Home schooling has been using online learning for a while now (from what I've been told by those parents) and it hasn't been an issue.  This may work to parent's advantage.

Check out Carol Williams chart on causes of death every day.  This whole thing is blown out of proportion.  I was at Costco yesterday afternoon and there were NOT long lines of people at the checkout. All normal.  And I didn't see any hoarding going on.  So no I don't think online classes is necessary.  Perhaps it's valuable for home schoolers......

Mayra, I received my PDH Academy booklet out of Pewaukee, Wisconsin last Saturday that meets the Indiana Real Estate Commission specifications for the 12 CE hours due by June 30th this summer. 

It is a written correspondence CE course that I can work on anywhere and not be tied to a computer.  I like to use a highlighter and mark the pages up and this is my preferred way to learn,  so new virus or not I plan to stay with my written CE correspondence course from PDH Academy.

Stay safe and I am pleased to see that many medical experts are now stating publicly the value of taking large doses of quality Vitamin C to keep the immune system healthy.  

It is possible the IT folks can replace all class room teachers and eliminate the need for brick and mortar schools.  Unfortunately, this REAL alternative will not actually reduce the cost of education. 

This 'crisis' may be the event to look more closely at a new look at public education. How many classroom currently rely on devices to deliver instruction? We are more that half way to this solution but too much power is in the hands of business as usual to  make the obvious change.

Looks a lot like the business as usual status of real estate brokerage.

Practically speaking I think it is better than potential exposure.

When will this end?  In Dallas there is a run on food, bottled water, and hand sanitizer.

The NJ Department of Education is refusing to allow distance learning to count as one of the 180 school days necessary to receive funding so schools are loathe to implement it. 

Sure would be a great solution for a while.

Definitely. Our county has those plans.

I'm sure that's what they're doing in places like Japan and Italy, where they closed schools for up to a month.
