I don't let anyone blog on my website.  If I do, I will have an agreement with them and what they can and cannot post.  I will have the final say and I can edit their blog.

I've done it before to exchange links. But, not a direct exchange.
For example, they gave me a link/web page from site A linking to site B, I posted their article on site C with links to site D

I checked both the site I linked to and the site giving me the link.
I usually check:
- the backlinks to them for quality and spam
- the spam content of sites
- the number of pages and dominant theme
- if they are US-based
- the uniqueness of post/article (no duplicates)

Of course I do. Why not?

Minimal requirements???? Not clear what you are fishing for here so I'll just take the 'shot gun' approach.

1. What do you think you want to blog about?
2. How do you see this being of value to MY contact/view list?
3. How will this be of value to me?
4. Exactly what problem does this solve for me or my contact/ viewer list?
5. You do understand no links EXCEPT to your website homepage.
6. Explain how I will gain access to your contact/viewer list? (reciprocy)
7. What is the number in that list/viewer count?
8. What value do you respresent to that list/viewer?

As you can see, everyone is free to guest blog...but there must be an aligned value.

They send it to you & you paste it in. Add the name of the contributor & you're on your way.

I do not.  I've had a few requests over the years and more so now that it's the SEO "Guru" advice of choice for link building.  I've even been asked to contribute to other's blogs.

If I did allow it, the blog would need to be 500+ words long, unique to my site and not advertise third parties other than their site (and only then within reason).  It would also need to be laser focused onto real estate and the topic would need approval.  While others weaken their blogs with non-real estate related articles, or gossip columns, I take a very different approach.  I only publish maybe 4 articles a month and they not only have to be 100% into real estate, but they have to tell a story that is beneficial to the narrative and have some nexus to local real estate.  I don't do business in mobile home sales, tiny homes or ADUs for example, so I won't post any of those articles.
