The RIGHT CHARLOTTE REALTOR!

The last two were 'rule-breakers' with positive gains in each. Prior to that, all were slower.

Like you, I think this one will also stray from the norm!

I have seen a slow-down in every election year, thus far.  It doesn't usually start quite this early.

I have heard this theory reported over the years, in different professions and in many different locations across the country - my opinion is that "slow downs" have much more to do with one's own attitude versus things that may be happening in other parts of life.

It all depends what the "market" as a whole is doing, what wall street is doing and interest rates. This year we are in a position we have never been in before. There is always hype, however the econmists, stock market, business owners and self employeed are facing down socialism. If at anytime we get closer and the markets think a socialist takes the lead in the election cycle, a recession may take hold that will make 2008 look like nothing. A mass sell off like none before.

I’ve never noticed a slowdown in election years. Last year I had a number of people “waiting” but this year is off to a brisk start. With rates this low people need to be buying.

This is the first time in decades we have a market that is not seller or buyer biased and is free of acts of God and acts of man and will play out as a cycle of Real Estate i.e. adjusting as it goes steadily with minor hiccups & pauses

No. Elections having nothing to do with our market and in fact things got really busy this year by 01/06/2020.

Unless the new president determines your loan outcome, the President of the USA has no bearing on your purchase.

People bought homes with 4 different presidents so far, in my career, during low and high unemployment, people bought homes during the Dot Bomb of 2000, the Crash of 07-11, etc. etc.

It just seems slower because of all the craziness one needs to dodge.

Reliable sources report no increase in USA originating moves to Canada.

Business as usual with more land mines.

Not the year, but closer to the event.  Especially last year, when it was so divided between a great candidate who had the country in his heart and one that let Americans die and blamed a youtube video for her failure to respond to repeated requests for help.

I'm more worried about the 2024 election than anything else.

I have not noticed a slow down re: election year. Life goes on no matter who is elected. Buying and selling decisions are mostly driven by life events and not because of change in elected officials and the political biases.
