YES, space - appliances can always be changed out but, adding a large island is a big deal to do later. So, the larger islands and upgraded cabinets are a big deal to many of my clients. 

Last week's buyers #1 kitchen plus they wanted was a gas cooktop - NOT electric!

#2 was the hood - who knew?! To me, the hoods are cheap upgrades that are very personal but, the hood was a big deal to each of the buyers.

Totally updated (very recently) with high end appliances etc.  Everyone wants that one specific 'look' these days. Honestly I'm getting quite bored by seeing this same thing over and over and over for the last 2 or 3 years. So HGTV....just saying.
