Everyone markets different because each of us have different targets. The last several years of my active days were marketing strictly to builder/developers. They don't like to be bombarded and they were certainly to smart to be "Brain Washed". My clients liked a "physical presence" more than anything. They wanted to see me on site often so that they were confident that I know the quality of their builds and why they did what. If I did the "marketing" typically thought of by Realtors to my clients they would have left me in a hurry.

Great question, I don't mind how many times it has been asked and by whom, it is still relevant. 

What is your definition of marketing? 

Why are we among the only profession who have pictures on our business cards?  

I don't consider it brain washing.  Its a different version of the billboard along the side of the road.  It is the same as the commercials that flash across our tv screens.  

It comes in different flavors, and we do it with "

CONSISTENCY" because that is what it takes for our brands to be recognized and remembered.

The purpose of repetition is to be in sight and in mind when it comes time to buy or sell a home.  But you need more than repetition alone, you also need a variety that is structured. We're all suckers for rhythm and rhyme...  If you go back to Greek rhetorical history it turns out that every Greek device is essentially a form of repetition. There is Anaphora repetition at the beginning, Tricolon, Epizeuxis and finally Antimetabole.  

Repetition is also the God particle of music.
