I honestly don't know if it's a good thing or if it will cause more people to default. Living in a air force  base community I can say that I don't ever remember my buyers being kept from a house they couldn't afford yet I know a few that lost their homes in foreclosure.

Good news for vets in the elete markets, not sure it will help those looking for more moderately priced homes where inspection standards have sellers hesitant to accept offers with govt loans.

Don't really keep up with that.  Typically speaking it's not a loan used much in my market.  80% of my area sales are second homes and VA doesn't finance second homes.

I have not seen the news.  Not sure what impact it will have out here as VA offers are few and far between.  Unfortunately with the need for closing costs, the often just cannot compete with conventional loans.  Would be nice for the VA to remove the need to seller paid closing costs for taxes and such.  Would make them a competitive loan then.
