This guy gets a lot of material from us, seems the more ethical way to do this is to give each of those quotes a call to make sure the quote is in context and voluntary.

I'm always relieved when I am NOT quoted 'cold'.

I partially agree w Bob that we need to have Google Alerts for our names to see when we were quoted without being spoken to . . .
HOWEVER when we post to a public forum we lose privacy.
And so, as Lyn said, we need to be aware.

But then there is the question, "What is taking the real estate exam like?" The intelligent answer to that question is, "Potatoes."

Look who was quoted first... I have to say that nearly all the times this happen, i get a call from various reporters asking addititional questions or ask me for a quote or permission to use my quote. I guess it goes back to if you are going to ask or answer a question, do it knowing that everyone will be seeing what you write.

Were these statements in a members only forum? While I do believe you need to be careful what you say online, I think this person should get permission to use your quote. And as Bob said, make sure it isn't being taken out of context. To me, the article doesn't have integrity without the permission of the person who made the quote.
