I do Properly Plan to be in the Right Place at the Right Time.

You have to be prepared so that when that lucky opportunity presents itself, you know what to do.

For example, if a gymnast on the U.S. team broke her ankle and they were looking for an alternate, they wouldn't be calling me because I'm not prepared. (I can't even do a cartwheel!)  But there is someone who has been practicing gymnastics her entire life, and is ready to fill the spot.  That's not because she's lucky.  That's because she prepared her entire life to be ready when the opportunity presented itself.

In our business, it might not be someone breaking an ankle.  Maybe it's knowing how to give a good presentation when Daddy Warbucks is looking to buy a house.  He called happened to call when you had desk duty. 

Proper planning would lead you to be at the right place at the right time more often than not planning.

Timing has its place but its not the top reason. 

I would rather be lucky than good,  But it is good to be lucky with a very generous dose of hard work and a great plan with measurable goals.  

It can be luck that prevails in some instances but over the long haul a good plan is a more solid approach.

it's who you know that directs business to you.... that doesn't take any planning....

I think it's important to be at the right place at the right time plus proper planning.... the right place would be where people are who know people.... they're the players....

I think the right planning has you at the right place at the right time with the right answers to solve the client's problems.

Being out and about is in line with living & exploring life and all its wonders. You will discover opportunities because they are their awaiting you. All of life is being here & being here is the right time and place for whoever is here

Luck is an acronym for Laboring Under Correct Knowledge.

We need to be prepared, mindset and vibes shiny, but as planners, problem solvers,control freaks we forget that the Divine is still in charge!

I was telling my nail chick yesterday that had I not gotten fired from a job that by rights I should never had been, and caught a boyfriend cheating (deal breaker for me), I would never have met my husband!

We have to go with the flow of both good and bad and know that all roads lead to the promised land!

I told one of my counseling clients yesterday that she should send the XBF who dumped her and cleared the way for the right one she has now a fruit basket!

I think being in the right place and time has a LOT to do with having an opportunity presented to you, but you must be able to act on that opportunity and capitalize upon it.  See my question about opening an escrow company.  Right place and time, situation presented itself.  Now doing research, making decisions and forming plans of execution.

Yes, I planned to go out to dinner with friends a few weeks ago and a friend of theirs stopped by the table to chat for a few minutes. Lo & behold, they are listing and buying with me right now...so, yes, a little of both - planned and right place/right time!

No. Not more. It can help but planning and execution lead the way.

I think it's a combination of all of the above. The most successful people I know are planners but have a knack of being in the right place at the right time as well yet those on the outside only see that success so they attribute it to luck. 

Luck seems to follow proper planning, skill, competence and character.

Just like over night successes have 20 year long journeys.

Being in the right place at the right time makes it a whole lot easier to stay busy.  Even mediocrity works in a hot market for example.  Location, location, location.  Being prepared and able to project or draw people to you then becomes a cakewalk...

Tough question,  I think both all the time.  You need to plan your work and work your plan.

Oh, boy. 

Hard work - yes. 

And luck. 

Proper planning and a commitment to the plan is what puts you in the right place at the right time!  And then there is the occasional "gift from above" that comes out of the blue for no particular reason.

Every positive element helps.

Both are very important.

They come together and are inseparable
