Yes but, for none of the reasons you asked! We have a steel beam that runs through the open space room in our home. The signal just wasn't getting it in all of the areas of our house.  Now, things work great with the extender!

I just have wifi... no extenders. I don't need wifi outside my front or side doors. Don't use it outside of the house.

Yes, I did add an extender to be able to reach areas in the house where I had poor Wi-Fi connections. It helped tremendously. Recently, However, my provider boosted my Wi-Fi to 400 mpbs, and that helped too. I am looking forward to when Google Fiber is available in my area since they offer up to 1000 mpbs. 

I do not have an extender that I know of. I seem to get excellent coverage throughout my home and in the courtyard.

About twenty years ago I did, back then my office building was across the yard from the house, now we have a separate hookup for both buildings.

I had one installed, but eventually uninstalled it.  I used to not have great coverage for my phone in the furthest parts of my house, but I got a better router and that resolved the issue.  The electronics there are all hard wired and where I can, I hard wire everything.

What I'll do now is hardwire the extender in the far side of the house, which will give good coverage outside if I'm going to be out there for an extended period and want music.  Of course, I don't use much data anyways, so the wifi isn't 100% required.

1 Get a higher band width WIFI >2.4 ghz.

2. Keep your current router and sell your current home to one <150 ft inside. We will do unlimted Open house house until wifi needs is satisfied. 

I do not have a Wi-Fi range extender.

We have RCN as a service provider and I have a couple of plug in "eero" units to increase my signal in certain areas including my balconies.
