Ha ha ha.

I know, like it will help new agent to get better car if we answer that question.

By the way, today is so easy to get a good deal and lease it.

William, your questions are redundant. You can garner more points if you take each one and create a blog post. I wrote one regarding Riding Dirty...about how a clean car gives a great first impression. A clean car in good condition works for most people.

I think it needs to be need, clean and reliable. No matter how one feels, you will be judged if you pull up in a rusted hunk of smoking metal.

I think an up to date car is just fine. For me, it’s a reflection of my good taste, wise. choices and personality. I drive an Audi Q5 and an Acura TL AWS

That was recently posted. Actually a few of your long list of questions have been recently posted. A couple of good ones, but you probably should have scrolled down to see if you were being repetitive.

Well lets explore it:

1. You drive up in a $80k dollar car. It says you are experienced, well-off and know what you are doing. It also may say you are arrogant, above everyone and are in it for the money only

2. You drive up in a $5k dollar car. It may say you are not successful, lazy, lack initiative and not doing very well. It could also say you are thrift, not ego driven and someone easy to relate to.

First impressions are a study unto themselves. In the end, it is what comes out of the mouth of the person you are engaging. That's who they are and should be assessed accordingly via Q & A and conversation....

Cars are funny things. They can give a buyer confidence, and they can make a seller think you make too much money. In my part of the world, you want the best car you can afford that can navigate the mountains in the Winter. That means something higher and four-wheel drive. I do have a car for suburban neighborhoods, but I love the bigger vehicles.

A car that's reliable and clean. When I first started I had a smaller car but it was always squeakly clean and clients were fine with it. And hey, somehow I lasted 32 years in the biz!! How I don't know LOL!!

Hey William - I just noticed you posted a lot of questions at once. It would be a good idea not to hog the Q & A board - just  a little friendly advice.

As long as it is clean and well cared for, it would not matter.  Not everyone can afford a brand new one or may like the one they have.

It has to be used for signs, showings and sometimes the area is a little muddy.  In rural areas harder to keep clean.

Be comfortable with what you drive.

I think it is a personal choice. I had an agent tell me a seller asked him what kind of car he drove before he'd let him come interview for the listing. He wanted to make sure he was successful. I keep trying to talk my husband into the new BMW X4. He doesn't want one. I wouldn't want to drive it for my business. It's too nice. I still take people in my car. I've had kids throw up in my car, people eat and drink in my car, muddy shoes in my car, and rocks hit it on the highway. I have a very nice Honda Pilot. It is very roomy even for my tall clients who may have to sit in the backseat. It has great storage space in the back. I love it.

Reliable and clean. When we started, we were 23 and had a used oldsmobile. We just made sure it was always clean. Yes, people judge, but you can't control that. People judge if you have to fancy of a car too. Hummers were wildly popular real estate agent cars around here during our last boom and I had clients and friends who made fun of agents and said they'd never use an agent who drove one. But I'm sure they impressed others. We draw the clients we need to. -K
