If I move, I will be new to the city.  As a realtor, I think I will best serve my clients when I know the area.  So if I move, I will find a job while I take the time to educate myself about the city and area.  I originally came from California and I moved to Texas and learned about the area for 3 years before I became a realtor. 

For me it is not where to move and what to do, but who with? If you have a strong emotional support, other things do not really matter. 

You have a lot of knowledge that is hard to segway into another industry. I've tried & thought about many ways. I do not want my own brokerage though at all.

Yes... at this stage of my life I'd stop working and find other outlets! I've already been there and done that with moving starting over several times. No need to repeat.

I have done that once and have no desire to do so again. If I did move I'd probably hang up real estate and start playing more golf and see what flows my way. Always something interesting out there....

After 4 geographic changes and moving from commercial to residential, I am through and enjoying retirement.

Start farming my own neighborhood and several around me if I had absolutely no database. It has to be tough starting in a new market altogether - I can't IMAGINE doing that right now!

Any time you travel, you and I think about the real estate market there and at home. What if you swapped your real estate location? How would the area and your job be different? Have blogged about it on AR and it is neat to read comments from once active but not around these parts anymore when you look back. Any local area needs a real estate professional that knows the lay of the land, the local traditions and history to fit in but the skills with people, the process follow you wherever you go. It could be exciting and re-energize your real estate relationship with your job. Most of us are married to our jobs, the jealous master, the all consuming sport of list and sell right?
