Today we enjoyed chateaubriand, honey baked ham and way  too many side dishes...

We were stuck on Turkey for years Michael J. Perry but everyone got sick of it. Tonight we enjoyed London Broils and a lot of "fixin's".

Filet mignon steaks that we got from EarthFare.

Jumbo Gulf shrimp from Mike's Seafood.  Wife boiled a couple pounds of them; chilled them for appetizers with cocktail sauce (we made from ketchup, fresh horseradish, lemon juice).

More shrimp, this time sprinkled with garlic, cayenne, pink salt, then sauteed in butter.

 Broccoli from The Fresh Market.   Some really good cheese from Spain, to top the broccoli (I think it came from Whole Foods).

 Mashed Yukon potatoes.

 Flan for dessert from Carlos' Cuban Cafe.

 Iced tea and/or coffee.

Christmas Eve tends to be more "traditional" in the house where I grew up and that's not very traditional in a maple furniture/ country style sorta way.

I live in the South so, it's southern tradition all the way, Michael - casseroles, casseroles and more casseroles! LOL

No. Nothing traditional. This year cuz my guests are arriving late, I made stuff they can dish at will in case I'm asleep LOL I can catch up with them later. Shredded beef with red sauce and shredded chicken with a creamed freshly roasted green chili sauce (to die)! Organic tortillas. Fresh salsa. A roast with autumn veggies and herbs. Fresh rolls for the roast and au jus for dipping. The kids pretend to be on keto but they're not. You can't drink craft beer and be on keto, sorry! Tomorrow night, reservations. That's a tradition I could get behind!

I eat whatever is on the table wherever I am invited.  I have no idea what is for dinner today but I'll be there with a mince pie. 

Christmas Eve is traditional. Chritstmas Day not so much... it varies depending on who's around and what we might be doing.

Not really. I cook everything what my daugher and grandson like the most.

Normally Pam will cook a ham BUT this year there were only 3 of us for dinner so we cooked a 6-bone lamb loin. Boy was that good. 

Used to be prime rib with my parents. Now that they snowbird south for the winter, it is Chinese buffet. Four years running. This year they happened to be home for Christmas and joined us in the Chinese Buffet new tradition. -K

If I'm at my parents, it's typically ham, potatoes, etc.  My in-laws serve prime rib.  And since I'm running solo this week since I'm the zookeeper while Liz visits her family, it's enough Chinese takeout to last me 3 days :)

Christmas Eve we had the Night of the 7 Fishes dinner... pasta with seafood- lobster, clams, mussels, scallops, calamari... and other things like Fried Shrimp & Bacala (Cod) fried & in a salad. Christmas Day we had a Ham with Roasted Potatoes. Stick a fork in me, I'm done. 

We do not.

Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, roasted sweet potatoes, stuffing, Brussel sprouts, wine sauerkraut, hot rolls, and apple strudel with vanilla ice creamfor dessert! 

It was ham, ham and more ham. Can you tell I love ham

My tradition to serve what my family personal favorites.

Chicken and dressing, cauliflower drowning in cheese green beans and of course mashed potatoes.  Hot rolls, and Baskins & Robbins pie.  

Ham for Christmas, turkey for Thanksgiving. And lots of leftovers.

No longer. It is just Sandy and me left.

Homemade organic fresh clean vegetarian chili with all the trimmings - diced onions, cilantro, avocado. YUM!

Daughter put on a wing-ding dinner with roasted perfect prime rib with bones-in and a fried turkey so tender with sides that please PLUS killer quality deserts....I was also served a delicious creme soda in a chilled-mug

Went to friends' home, and they fixed a traditional Danish Duck dinner.  

Different every year.  More and more we keep it simple

Our traditional Christmas Day meal is normally whatever my wife, sister-in-law, friends or daughters feel like preparing.

Last year, I took us all to a very special restaurant for a change of pace. This year's meal was at the home of one of our daughters.
