Amazon has a number around 20 bucks and up.  My landlord over half a century ago had a solar power radio that he trasured. It had to put out by sun and was pain in the neck to use. Some days there were no sun.

My question what is wrong not to charge it from cigarette lighter while you drive?

Interesting Fred Griffin . I have a couple of small solar chargers I use to charge my camper battery but it never occurred to me to use one for charging my phone.

My wife and I both have this one.  They are about 3 years old and still going strong.  We have never relied 100% of solar for charging them, but know it's there if we need it and have an extended power outage.

Most of my phone charging takes place indoor...often at night. I have a car charger that I also use. I have a portable back-up charger. Don't think I need to add this new gizmo to the collection.

On the other hand, maybe I should get one before my next trip to Hawaii. Hmmm?

Instead I went with batteries the size of a thumb drive.

I love the one we have.  I do charge it via the usb if we have a storm coming, but I'm glad to know if we have a prolonged outage we have the solar we could rely on.  I've had as much as a week without power and several times where it was a couple to three days.
