Technology in the days of Myspace (remember, that's 13+ years now) has changed so dramatically. I don't see Facebook being replaced by a new shiny thing yet. But it'll take a shiny ass thing to replace Facebook.

Facebook is staying. Their stocks are still healthy. Their business is sound. And they are doing an amazing job , much better than google, on ads, their targeting is great and the FB AI is a game changer. 

So is the Facebook messenger chat bots - huge game changer. This is the future, robots and AI. And FB is right on top of it with messenger. More people download the FB messenger APP to their mobile devices than all other APPs. 

Facebook owns Instagram- which was a brilliant business move. 

FB is having a bit of an issue with launching their own TV and movie streaming because it is not as native as their other channels. 

Facebook bought WHATSAPP, which is a huge move, smart move, and a great back story. 

WHATSAPP is how most people in Europe talk to each other on their mobile devices for free, way better than Skype. 

And I believe that FB is just scrathing the surface of its potential.

I don't think it'll go away anytime soon - at least it will have to be replaced by something bigger and better, if so.

There are a small number of people who have abandoned FB but, for the most part, my family, high school & college friends and clients are still communicating there...so, I have to be there!

I believe FB needs to realize that the platform cannot be 'all things to all people' and it should focus on its' base business. Get that right, then perhaps expand.

Facebook will maintain relevancy for decades to come, despite some attrition, IMO. I have managed ads on FB, it helps pay the bills, to say the least!

I don't see Facebook being like My Space simply because of the manner in which it was monetized.  There will be a new platform that becomes more prevalent but Facebook should be around for many decades in my opinion.

Only time will tell.  I do not like the way FB dictates how or when I am to respond. It feels like ZTR ... respond within 2.5 seconds or you suck!  That is not my gig and I will not succumb to that nonsense on FB.

It will evenutally fade.  The millenials left it because their parents got on it and with the emphasis on targeting millenials these days, FB won't be getting those dollars.  I think more and more people will eventually leave and it will become another myspace.  Those that are still there use it, but it's a footnote in history.
