Yes. That is how many teams operate here - licenses are hung with another broker and they are the broker of their team in either an Inc. or an LLC.

In Georgia yes.  But you have to be licensed that way.  Example... Jane Doe DBA Jane sells Sinclair, LLC by the real estate commission.  Business card has to have both and brokerage name and brokerage and/or attorney must pay the BE.  Although I do know some who skirt/break the rules, but not my brokerage.

In California the only two types of entity for a real estate brokerage allowed by the Department of Real Estate is either a Sole Proprietor or a Corporaation.  No LLCs or LLps or General Partnerships.

I researched this back in May when I was told by my CPA to form an entity. In Florida, an agent (who is not a broker) can be a P.A., LLC or PLLC.

After consulting my attorney and tax CPA, I was leaning towards LLC or PLLC but after talking with my broker was advised to do a P.A. so that is what I did.

I would suggest that anyone considering doing this not only talk with their attorney and CPA but their broker as well.

By "sole proprietorship" do you mean a d/b/a? I have not heard of that being an option in Florida.

In AZ, yes. I'm the owner of my real estate LLC, my license is with the LLC. My LLC hires me as the practitioner. Title companies and brokerages pay my LLC, not me directly.

You can also be other types of corporate like a PC for example.
