I do follow up on all leads.

There is a fine line between following up and chasing down.  I do not chase or beg for business.

Following up is your #1 priority. Many agents do not follow up and clients get use to that which lowers their opinion of agents.

We just had a speaker at our office say that only about 50% of agents follow up on leads!  That's incredible to me; I follow up on every inquiry I get.

Prospecting 30% of my day / Keep in Touch & Follow up 70% when it comes to my 2 hour daily "power hour(s)". Far more time dedicated to follow up than generation; the beauty of working 100% by referral.

Probably more time generating new leads.  In my business I separate leads from prospects and that helps where I spend time/money/energy ----- a lead is anyone who's info I got that came through my multiple funnels.  Some of them may not want to work with me, may be more of a time drain than they're worth, or something else that would mean spending minimal time on them is best for my business.  So with leads, I try to convert them to prospects (someone I know needs help, is capable of accomplishing their goal, and is willing to have an ongoing dialogue) ---- I spend most of my time cultivating prospects, with the next biggest commitment being to generating leads.

If it's a new lead that just came in.. I'm spending time to deal with them....

If it's working "old leads", they are in my database, I will be working with them as I have information to work with already.

Lead generating new leads would still also include working with the "old leads"... and my SOI.

Main thing is putting forth the time each day DOING lead generation. IMO

I would be mixing it up... likely not an even split.... It would be depending on how many "old leads" are in the DB and how large my DB (including SOI) is overall.

For me generating leads stops to answer the new leads, then i get back to generating. I like to judge my lead from the start to see if it is someone for now, a month, a year or who knows? Then follow up a 2nd time etc based on how serious they are

YOu should spend more time following up on leads than generating new leads. Nestor is super good at follow up. Me, not so much.  But even more so, you should be spending the majority of your time prospecting with your past clients and SOI.

Generating new leads or mostly a passive event.

Follow up is 80% passive until the lead raises their hand.  When one does the math, it is highly more productive to follow-up with those who are ready than lurking about until time makes them move.
