I don't recall hearing the term "hard colors". Today's designers and stages are more in touch with nature and the architectural style/ feel of the home.

I would say in some situations hard colors work but neutral colors always work the best for the marketing of a home.

Not sure what a hard color actually is. Neutrals have always been big in my market... the only question is whether they go towards the beige or grey tones.

I no longer see that one accent wall in 'red' these days, and I know more kitchens are going to the grays and whites as neutrals.  I still see some taupes and beiges, though, and in the older homes different 'shades of blue' apparently were super popular decades ago William Feela.  By 'hard colors' do you mean bright colors, as I'm not quite sure!

In new construction it's mostly neutral you'll see but in trendier pre-existing homes the big color is GRAY like Debe Maxwell, CRS mentions.

Bold colors are still found. I have a home listed for sale now that has several rooms with bold colors. I suspect many prospective buyers are factoring in the cost of painting into their acquisition costs.

Gray. 50 shades of gray.

Or any lightly tinted color that accentuates the wood or stone inside the house.
