Since I don't know where you are located, I couldn't even begin to answer. Brokerages and their training programs are highly localized.

Sarah,

If you got the license, that subject was disscusted many time and it was a question on the state exam.

There are so many big and small companies, most of them will give you a training. And classed in your local Realtors Association.

It seems somebody push you to ask this question in AR again and again.

Real life is a little bit different than asking here in AR that question.

When you sign with the RE company, let us know, what you have learned there in the first month. Good luck.

I would look for a company with good support and training sarah lunt, and that can be webinars on-line or in a classroom situation.  I would interview different brokerages, for the feel of the company, the style of the manager, and what you will get and what you will pay for.  If you know realtors already who work for different brokerages, ask them what they like or do not like - I realize that is personal opinion, but it gives you more input to consider.  Ask about a mentor, and what percentage they will get and how long will they work with you.  Have a list of your questions, as doing 'homework' in this regard is very important - you want a good fit.  Best of Luck!

Splits are not a priority...YET!  That is exceptional insight.

How do you choose a broker.....best train'n... getting started.

Exactly the same way you would choose the best apple tree, you examine the fruit!  Don't rely on the sweet words from the lips of the broker because they quickly turn bitter in the light of disappointment.

Sarah, I bet  you have a business plan that identifies your preferred client, location, access portal, income expectations, vertical and horizontal markets. GREAT!

Here is what you do.

Ask the broker only two questions. Now you will need to be patient and respectful and sit through the dog and pony show. When it is your turn, ask these two questions...and these questions are the only two you need to ask.

1. How many licensed agents are in this office. Include every licensed member of a team and office staff regardless of their role.

2. How many transaction sides completed by that office in the past 12 months.

From these two questions you can examine the fruit of the office and derive the quality of the training, effectiveness of support services, culture and compensation.

You will need to know how to use those two numbers properly to evaluate  the office OBJECTIVELY. This is a business, not a hobby. Don't make decisions based on how 'happy' they make you feel.

When you identify the offices with good fruit, select the one who:

1. connects you with a mentor who is experienced in implementing business plans like yours.

2. a broker who will commit to getting you involved in a transaction within 30 days. You LEARN BY DOING, not warming a stool in a conference room.

Need more? you know what to do.

Set up inerviews and speak with a few Brokerages.  Find out what training they provide, and DO NOT sign up with a brokerage where the broker of record is a selling agent.  Have a list of questions ready.. what is their referral program?  When a lead comes into the office how is it distributed?  There is enough competition out there you don't need to be competing with your broker.  Talk with a few agents in each broekrage to get their opinion of the office environment and the broker.
