Joe, first you are NOT a Licensed Agent in Florida, so you may think you understand real estate sales & referrals, but you are sadly mistaken. You do not have a clue.  You are seeking the Realtor Community help, but in a back handed way of saying what is wrong with us in not helping you sell your home in Florida to our clients from any other state or foreign country? Talk about a global reach, you have achieved it.

My advice is to list with a qualified agent in the Sarasota area. Since you already agreed to a 3% commission on your website, then what advantage are you bringing to the table? None in my opinion. Typical For Sale By Owner wanting the Turkey AND the Gravy. Life and Real Estate is not that easy or simple.

My 2 cents input, worth what you paid for it.

With all due respect, I looked at your website.   As I advised you previously there isn’t enough information for me to seriously consider this property as an option for my buyers. It is not listed in the mls, as you have advised me, so it is not a listing that I can work with. When and if it goes into the mls, send me the information.

If you want to sell a multi million dollar property you get a full service agent with experience listing and closing similar properties, who does the following: de-clutters, stages, take professional photos, perhaps a video and drone, puts in the MLS the 40 photographs with and accurate and legal description, then they market it for you.  Please dont go on Active Rain and accuse people of nonsense. Do you want people to help you? Please reconsider fighting with people who might show or sell your home.

If your home is such a great deal why hasn't a buyer snatched up this diamond? Maybe a buyer does not want to pay your price. Maybe a price reduction is in order for this palace by the sea?

If I had a client who wanted to move to your area, I'd refer them to a real estate buyer agent in your area. That agent is the one who would be finding the "right" house for that buyer. I wish you the best with your sale.

But seriously, with accusatory statements such as the one in this question, you're shooting yourself in the foot if you're trying to get agent cooperation.

Home is where the hearth is.

Joe... you seem all too willing to place the blame on Realtors ignoring your listing... when in fact it's pretty rare for us to have a client moving to a different region that we service ... and when we do... we simply refer them to a local agent.

Since your property is listed with the MLS... I'm sure that they would be familiar with your listing.  I would not call that "ignoring" your listing.

And yet, you continue to harangue us with your complaints. When you're dependant on the cooperation of agents world-wide ... to bring you buyers... why would you continue to complain about us?  Why!?  THAT's the question.

When Realtors have buyer clients looking in certain areas, they look for agents to represent them in that demographic. I currently do not know anyone who wants to purchase an island home where you are selling!

Seems to me it's more a question of other Realtors not having a client who is interested in your home, or being qualified to buy it. How can you make a blanket statement that "Realtors are ignoring a listing they do not have?" I wonder if your solicitation, and perhaps marketing in general, may not have been targeted to the right agent audience likely to have buyers who can spend the money for this type of property.

I love getting referrals, and enjoy giving them. If I had a qualified buyer for your area, or elsewhere, I would refer them to a buyer agent I have researched and talked to (or better yet, already know) and not to a specific property.

Unfortunately, while you are making efforts to help your listing agent find a buyer, the manner in which you publicly respond to others in our national community here on AR is probably having the opposite impact you are hoping for.

Your statement is inaccurate. Very generalized.

Realtors do sell property they don't have the listing for... some do it full-time (buyers agents)... and many listing agents also sell many properties they don't have the listing for.

Referrals?

Yes... I give them (to licensed agents where my client is moving too (if they desire)... and I recieve them... from licensed agents who have clients moving into my area where I am a licensed agent.

I'm not about to refer my client to a particular property/area for which I have no knowledge of... a property that I have never seen...I'll refer them to a qualified licensed agent who I know will look out for their best interests and has first hand knowledge of the property and area.

You end with "Why would a Realtor Not Want To Earn a Referral Commission?"  Each person runs their own business the way they desire.  Same reason (I suppose) that not all Realtors sell FSBO's, Expired's, New Construction, Land ect... They decide to work their business the way it feels best for them.

I'd suggest you work with a licensed Florida agent, get your listing in the MLS and I believe, in Florida you'll have over 200,000 agents ready to help sell your property.  Just a thought.

The first page of your website is one big lie. That is not the view from the house. If I had a buyer for your property I would caution them to be very leary of any of the rest of your claims because of this.

I am sure you have had or will have potential buyers who show up to view your house but never bother to get out of the car because of this deception.

Nice looking home, Joe. If I had a buyer who was moving to your region I would refer them to a local buyers agent who could provide the best level of service for whatever their needs were. If those consumers were interested in your property, the buyers agents would contact your listing agent to view the home.

Curious...can the beach be clearly seen looking forward from the front windows or front porch or does the home with the red roof take up most of that picturesque view? In the photos on the site, it appears the unobstructed view would be from the driveway, over the public access (if it is that), to the water.

To answer your original question...Yes, I love to give and receive referrals. ;-)

With all due respect Joe, you are seemingly very frustrated, perhaps at the lack of a sale. My suggestion to you is for your listing agent to develop an international marketing campaign. I give out referrals in many parts of the world for identified buyer needs. If your property does not reach me, then your listing agent's marketing is wrong. You need to address this. A complaint in this forum is totally ineffective and won't achieve your goals.

I don't understand you question. What does this mean: Realtors seem to delete all references to selling a property they do not have a listing for!

Having read all the comments here, I would suggest that your tone and attitude is not conducive in the least to getting anyone to cooperate with you. And this is NOT the venue to push your posts, especially more so if that post is to sell something.

When I have people to refer to another area, I do not look for properties for them. I find them an agent who specializes in the area my clients are looking in and collect my referral fee that way.
