Don't know about builders.  I've seen one in one or two flip homes though.  I don't have them.  Power outlets are everywhere and I have SOOO many bricks with a USB plug.  Besides, that's old school USB.  USB C is the way to go now!

I'm seeing more builders do that as of several years ago. I built my house 13 years ago and it was not the norm... so I don't have them built in that way.

No need for USB outlets. You most likely have multiple cords with  connections that have a USB slot.

In the future, your gadgets will connect and re-charge wirelessly.

Those are getting to be more commonplace. They are only for charging the device. It allows you to use the outlet for something other than the charging transformer.

I have several in my house. It is an easy retrofit about $15-20. But, the electrical outlet must be large enough to accommodate the device.  Some outlets have too many wires in them to allow for the use of these devices.

Some of our high-end builders are, Fred. There are 1 or 2 others that are low-to mid-range that are installing them but, they are not universally used. I don't think it will be long before they are though.
