I've said for years that my own office is paperless...Yet, I walk away from each Closing with a paper copy of an ALTA & CD (or HUD-1, if cash) and the attorney's courier delivers a paper check to my office!

All of the tools are there but 100% is tough to reach. Usually the extraneous pieces are digitized by the end of each month. The shredder is my favorite office machine.

Plus, putting pen to paper is magic so I'm a note writer and doodler. Red blue or black ink, depending.

Pretty much. All our contractual paperwork is on-line. No one leaves me notes. Communication is generally via email. And I get my commissions via direct deposit.

I really find this a worthless idea. We keep paperwork for the State & continue to load up Docusign at a rapid pace. It's never going to stop I'm afraid.

      I still keep paper copies of contracts and forms, just in case the internet goes down and I can't reach Form Simplicity. 

     Also, I keep paper copies of all signed agency agreements, sales contracts, closing statements... if I get audited, it is a lot easier to pull those file folders out of the file cabinet and present them to the auditor.

I've been paperless since January 2012.  All files are paperless.  

That does not mean I do not use paper.  I still like to use paper for lists, to-do's, etc.

No and we have no intention of becoming so.  I still take paper copies of listing agreements and purchase contracts on appointments.  No need to find power/cell service/wifi/etc. and you'd be surprised how many times "I'll send you a contract" turns into "we changed our mind".

 

I don't think we as a species will ever get 100% away from paper.  I do most everything online and my escrow closing packets are electronic.  But when that phone rings, I still have a pad of paper and a pen for taking notes.  I get my paychecks on paper too.

No and frankly I have no plans for that.  I do scan and save a lot of things digitally, but I also still hve clients who don't have email or own a computer.  How in the hell does a paperless office help those people?

We are pretty much 100% paperless, outside of the checks delivered by the title runners!  But I still have some agents who have to print paper copies of their deals, which is why we still have a copier.  And to accommodate clients who need to sign in person rather than electronically.
