Makes no difference in my market. Just one MLS covering a huge area. I'd like to see a choice to not belong to the NAR and still choose which MLS I want to affiliate with.

I believe we have had that ability for many years, and it was a hot topic when I was on our board in 2006. I'm not sure it matters. There are too many ways outside of MLS to market properties nowadays anyway, so selecting a different MLS for whatever reason may not matter and if they're doing it to save money it's not going to be very much.

NAR snatched MLS from Association. It would be nice to divorce NAR from our lives.

NAR- for Never Assesses it Right. Out-of-touch & working hard at negotiating something no Agent in CT (or in many states) even cares about. There's 1 MLS here.

No.
We already have MLS advantage, which covers most of the State of Florida.
There is also My Florida Regional MLS which covers 17 Boards in a huge chunk of central Florida. I have been a member of MFRMLS before, I can join again if I wish. I do not need NAR's permission or blessing.

It's possible that it could have a larger effect on an mls than some of the agents who opt out.

It will definitely benefit the Charlotte market. We are right on the state line (Charlotte IS on the state line!) and I am licensed in both states, selling a lot of real estate on the SC side. Many agents who work the SC area belong to an MLS that we have to pay an additional fee to belong to.
So, yes, this is great news for Charlotte agents who are licensed in and serve clients both states!

It will not specifically affect me other than possible allow more participants in our MLS which could help reduce our costs.

In our area the freedom choice already exists as there are 3 MLS systems that over lap our Counties, Cities and neighborhoods. You can join all 3, but must join 1 if you are a REALTOR. Non-REALTORs still have access to Florida MLS Advantage by joining FAR & NAR, not joining a local Board. Most, not all Brokers upload MLS data to MLS Advantage and the system is limited in regards flexibility when compared to the local Boards MLS systems, ( all 3 different).

Depends, is it free? More is always better when it comes to exposure for our listings.

We've had that for as long as I can remember in California. Some use it to get around MLS photo regulations.

There are some changes coming in our San Diego area as a result of legal action between one Realtor Association and 3 others which includes an MLS change for my association.

We have had many merger meetings of our MLS for the Northern CO and Colorado Springs & south.

Most likely no impact since we are already covered by local MLS's; those farther away are not in our "comfort" zone.
