The show must go on!

However, I will make arrangement for attendees to pull into garage or carport to they can avoid much of the discomfort.  Buyers willing to endure a little discomfort is one measure of the the meaning of 'motivated' buyer.

Great big umbrellas and staff properly trained means. the show will go on.

I only hold an open house for listings when the seller believes they are beneficial.  I keep my commitment so won't cancel once they have been promised and promoted.  I wouldn't schedule one if rain was expected though.

Of course.

We advertise and promote our open houses for days - way too far ahead to depend n weather. Additionally, people who want to buy houses still look at houses when it's raining. You might eliminate the Looky Lous.

If the open house is already scheduled, yes I hold it... I also provide slip-on booties to protect the floors and rugs when weather is bad.  Seems now days the weather predictions are 50/50.... in being accurate.

Of course the weather man is always correct.  45% chance of rain?  You are either in the 45% area or not... they are never wrong....

Yes, rainy days are when people are bored. They have nothing to do but stay indoors. Potential buyers will drive around and be happy to drop into an open house. Plus, rainy days are a great way to see how the water drains away from a property.
