I used to keep a personal blog, which was essentially my journal.  Since my husband passed a few years ago, I have abandoned it.  I still enjoy going back and reading it, though.  Watch for my next Throwback Thursday blog post.  Now, I guess AR is something of a journal.

I don't currently keep a journal but think it's a great idea and i was mentioning it this week with a friend.  Don't you think ActiveRain is akin to journalling in some ways?

Sort of - I make notes through the week but, am not consistent with it. I do post a weekly diary blog though - it's good for me to keep up with what transpired in any given week...and the therapy of writing it too!!

I've thought about it and have a few times throughout life but I don't currently. It sounds more like you are speaking in terms of a daily business journal, which I don't do either. I just write to-do lists.

Yes, several journals as a fact. Those you are asking would be a gratitude journal and a personal journal. You do not need to use it daily, but the more gratitude you write down, the better you usually feel. Most of my friends have now those, since I'm a big believer in ''where attention goes, energy flows''.

I no longer do in the form you speak of.  All the steps I take in action every day are done with intention ... how I start my day and end my day are with thankfulness and gratitude. I have my routines and rituals - much gets written down ... but not a formal journal.

My calendaring app is pretty well like a journal. And I make lots of notes into a book - notes by date.

And I use OneNote, where I have e-notes.

All this combined is a journal of sorts.
