Hi Luke Acree , good to see you here my friend. I'd say for me, it's knowing my audience and marketing to their needs and wants. Which means one message doesn't fit all. It may mean I have to target market my message to the different groups within my CRM. It's also keep in touch and "hey, I'm still here for you, even when no transaction is on the horizon, I'm your trusted advisor for life" and this the marketing that supports that concept and all my other relational core values.
Have a great show!

I am a fan of building relationships - not marketing to the relationships I build. People don't need or want me showing marketing crap at them for the rest of their lives or for me to remind them what I do and that I am here for them. They already know that.

Relationship marketing is first, learning all you can about the [intended recipient] and communicate to the person about what they want and need.
NOT about who YOU are (unless it fits in with the above)
NOT about what YOU know or can do (unless '' '')
Your objective is to make an emotional/intellectual connection with your audience.
It's a seduction of sorts. ;)

Congratulations on the Podcast appearance Luke!
The key is to focus on the Relationship, and the marketing will be unnecessary.

Something that Brian Buffini teaches. I'm actually sick of the buzz word that just means keeping a good connection with people that like you & the way you do business.

to me, it means, knowing who the right audience is and recognizing and/or seeking out their needs.... target and hit it.

For me it's working with fewer clients at any given time but providing 5-star, white glove service to each and every client and developing a personal relationship with each one.

For me authenticity shines through Every Single Time! If the purpose of reaching out to someone is for the sole purpose of 'getting business' then that person has missed the point completely...transactional relationships die an early death when the first wind blows... Authentic relationships withstand the test of time and mature into hearty oak trees...

It means staying top of mind as the agent they will call but not wearing them out asking for business. In other words it is about building a relationship and showing them you care about what is happening in their lives and not what's in it for you.

Relationship marketing? Sounds like an opportunity to SHOW your relations what they mean to you. Do it wrong is it turns into buring the bridges behind you.
If my intent is to market, it is incumbent upon me to know the VALUE I represent to each one of these. Most agent have one idea of their value, in their professional perspective, of which their 'relations' could care less.
Ones value is directly related to the way they HELPED another. Sorry, that does not include the sentence "I helped them sell a house." There are lots of folks with that value.
The value to recognize is the confidence conveyed, the solutions provided, the transformation realized, the comfort created, the compassion shown. etc.
And an agent can come to this understanding by boring to the third, forth or fifth levels of "How did I help you?" or "What do you see as my most valued ability?"
So Luke, you bored to level 4 and find your most valued ability recognized by several is how you make them feel important, they feel as though they are the only client you have because you listened well and asked probing revealing questions.
How would you market your 'make you feel important' ability to your 'relationships'?
