Our marketing department uses Experian to buy my databases of names and addresses for target marketing..... it's very cheap and they'll email you whatever results from the parameters you give them.... age, own or not own a home, income range, etc....

I have no clue.  I've never had a need to get a list of apartments.  

Who do you intend to reach? Are you wanting to contact owners of the apartment buildings? Or the tenants in the individual units?

I would contact my title company in my area.

Have not done this in years, but the title company provided them for a small fee.

I ordered addresses for apartment lists from DietrichDirect.  You pick out the apartment complexes you want and they send you the addresses.  Then when you mail out, just put "Current Occupant", unless you know the person who lives there.

Truly got me hanging. 

Drive through the apartment complex and write down pertinent info to go on.  Such as Building A through L and in each is 101- 118. Confirm with your post office that this is what they use. 

Talk to your title company representative.

Also, I just did an internet search out of curiosity and Experian.com came up first place as suggested by Barbara Todaro.

I have done a few mailings to apartments and got the list from my title company rep.

From the tax rolls.

Obviously FREE is best.

Getting a nice and cozy relationship with a title company (hit them up after to chose a deal through them) is a good first step.

Buying the list(s) would be a good 2nd choice.

Or, consider alternatives. An ad in the local community paper, door hangers included with the ValPak folks.  Or you might just have a chat with the management company and offer them a deal they can' t refuse. The latter is much more difficult if you see another brokerage already represented.  Then you must ask. "What can you deliver of VALUE the management company would love?"  Most likely writing, printend and delivering the community newsletter.

After you gain access to the tenants, having a solution(s) available will prove essential.

Sorry, no clue... never mailed to apartment buildings. Have never heard of an agent tell me they had success with this kind of farming.
