Yes I do & it's not a minute. It's around 10.
I know that when I register for something myself & they call right away I get totally annoyed so I make sure I don't do it.

I am just getting into this myself. I always call in person as soon as I can. I am now setting up texting and I am setting to text 2 minutes after someone registers. A friend recommended this and said it would look less automated than if it was immediate.

I usually respond within a few minutes of getting the notification, and I usually respond with a telephone call if they provide their number. otherwise I respond via email.

I don't use automated systems... people don't like them and can always tell if it's an auto-responder.

Depends on the content of your message and how that lead was generated. And being aware you stated "SMS and Email."
I think the expectation that consumer are unaware all this stuff is automated is not giving them them proper respect.
I do not delay, however my response is selective based on their context or relational aspect of the link to which they responded.
What I find works well is "Give me some time to gather the information and data needed. I will contact you within 3 hours. Meanwhile here is some remarkable information regarding (your escalation here)."

I just looked at the back of my lead gen site, and it says it goes our right away, and cannot change the auto email.

No, I do not. The only thing I have set up that is automated is the request a consult feature ... it lets them know their request was received.

I don't delay because others don't delay. First one to connect is usually the winner.

No, best to be transparent, they will know and appreciate the auto response.

I do not wait! Statistics show that conversions are reduced exponentially after the 5 minute mark.
