The one that you are truly knowledgeable and passionate about to do your best to attain the best possible outcome for your customer.

Better than what? What is "better" for you?

Do not go into commercial sales unless you really understand that niche. Don't go into triple net leases representing a party without a solid contract to represent, it is a real cut throat on commissions part of the real estate sector. 

Start with residential sales, get very well versed and experienced and then move into the space you resonate best with . 

Commercial requires a bit more savvy, expertise and agility with numbers and that might be more interesting. Also investors tend to be repeat clients. Residential sales are very different and can be good, but too shrouded in emotion.

Define better... I choose to do residential sales, but that doesn't mean it's "better" than commercial.

I’ve wanted to try commercial for some time now. Do them both/all. Commercial I have been told is more M-F 9-5 and residential can be 24/7. 

What's better for me is Residential. Commercial or leasing may be better for somebody else.

It's more a matter of what you enjoy

I prefer residential sales. I have never done commercial sales or leasing.

Better is subjective...All have tipped their hat to me and me to them

I have at one time or another worked in all 3. I did not like leasing and it did not last long.

It depends on which one you a trained in or have experience in.. I strictly do residential sales... have done one or two small commercial ones, in the past but it is not for me.  I would refer any commeracial leads..

Residential tends to be nights and weekends.  Commercial tends to be M-F 8-5, from what I've gathered here in the past.  I'm licensed for both (as are all California agents) but I only practice residential.  Eventually want to get into some light commercial as well.

Better than what?  Better for what? 

Which is better Brown or Black.  It is a personal preference ... is it not?

Either way we need to learn our craft and know well what we are doing and how we are doing it ... and always keep the client's highest and best as the #1 priority.

I'm not a fan of leases, but I do few per year( both commercial and residential), as for sales, I like them both, especially on a listing side. 

It depends on your passion.

I love residential sales. I do list some commercial but the time can be long and less guaranteed than residential. Leasing is good money, but takes up massive time and is dangerous in some areas these days, 

The one you like and are competent in.

 All. 

Customers are happy, we make money. 

I do only residential. In 2019 I will try to do commercial.

It depends on where your passions lie --- what do you want to do?

What is better?

That depends. What is your mindset? Are you working for tips like real estate agents or looking for profit like the investor or business owner?

If you really don't see the difference, the default is residential sales and the classic buyers agent.
