There are no wrong ideas... but you better make sure the pressure washer is good or you'll have some unhappy people on your hands. I've heard too many stories from neighbors about issues after they used certain pressure washers.

I'd ask first if that homeowner was thinking of selling...if the answer is no, the next question would be "do you know of anyone in the area who is thinking of selling.... if that answer is no, you could ask if there's anyone they want to get rid of!!!!!!!! that's how I'd handle it!!!!!!!! but you're probably a nice person who doesn't think as I do...

You could pass out a listing your company has for sale and on the Bottom of the handout youn could offer them a FREE RPR Report

If you are going to knock on doors, I think it's a good idea to provide them something of value.

It's a great idea & will make you feel that you have something of value to offer while punching that doorbell. Not sure if that is the best time of year for that though.
Michael J. Perry has a great idea too with the auto CMA.

As long as the pressure washer provides great service, that is certainly one method to try! It will get you out talking to potential sellers, and at a minimum you will start getting your name out there. Let us know how it goes!

Great work.....partnering up is smart.....work work work....very few agents will do this activity so your are 1 step ahead....however, be prepared with a brochure, market data, and your positive energy...otherwise your time will be wasted on getting in a walk......

George, I think it's a grand idea! It's far better than blowing your money on leads! I would first hire the pressure washing company to do a job for you though - if you're nothing short of thrilled with the results, then go for it!
Good luck!

George Arteaga Whatever works to get you a lead. My personal opinion about door knocking is that it may put you into the category of the door knockers who are pushing aluminum siding and roofs.

Check the township rules regarding soliciting buisness door to door. and also check out the company. Have you used them ? Do you have references?

Although an inventive idea, it may not grab you instant clients. It is good for building a farm for future clients. A couple of ideas to get clients today, is by reminding those you already know, what you do and how you can help. Post cards and writing a blog and posting said blog in your social media are a good start.

Just go door-knocking, or take open houses from agents who need help. Good luck.

I agree with the comment about making sure they do a good job. I'd give out a flyer with my info and some area houses (we can do that here) and have my info at the bottom and PRINT the coupon AS PART OF THE FLYER in the bottom right corner. That way they can't take it off and trash your piece.

Make sure the pressure washer is licensed, bonded, insured, and has good references. And don't let them pressure wash the roof, older stucco, etc.

I don't think there is a right or wrong answer...
Just the fact that you are willing to get out of your comfort zone and work toward a goal tells me you will succeed.

Here's an idea that will save the leather of your shoes and accomplish all of it in a fraction of the time rather that going to every castle and taking the risk of being rejected.
Rather than go to your farm prospects, have them come to you. Go to your local theater. Buy the smallest movie theater room for specific date of the slowest day of the week, and mail out an invitation for free tickets to a hot movie. Mail the invite. Responses, mail the tickets or better yet, have them personally deliivered or picked-up at the theater after they have confirmed - pressing flesh as they arrive (that's better than getting the front door slammed in your face). This way you promote yourself, capture their names, addresses, phone number and email.
On the night of the movie, when the movie is about to start, grab a microphone and introduce yourself, and make the 30-second elevator pitch. The movie theater may even put up on the screen your ad for a quick 30 second.
You heard it first on ActiveRain.

You're not listening enough George! Everywhere you go there's chatter about real estate if you pay attention. After making your informal, I can help, type of introduction and offer your card (without a sales pitch) it'll be more safe than aligning with other services you don't know or cannot control.

As a BRAND NEW AGENT this is an essential activity.
The things you will learn on multiple levels will prove indispensable as yourbusiness grows.
Danger! Danger! Will Robinson. (before your time)
What you have failed to identify if the proper purpose for this activity. That purpose for the brand new agent is LIST BUILDING. Do your selling later.
it is likely 3% of the home owners are interested in buying or selling within a year. That is a lot of doors before you get a positive response.
So improve the response rate with a different strategy that leverages the 'washing' opportunity.
You can approach ANY business owner in the area and they will love the opportunity to help you get the message of their product and services to the door step of the community.
What you are doing is essential for the new agent.

I passed out a cross word puzzles those who answered correctly gets a free car wash paid by me. I got 3 responded. All ans by children during the summer at home days. After school starts I did not get a single call. In fact someone turned me to City Compliance for leaving a flyer w/o a solicitation permit ($200 per year).
