It does everything as represented. However, it is pricey for some & because of that, they allow one to rent it yearly as opposed to buying outright

We have always bought our software but I recently purchased a new laptop and my hubby opted for M.O. 365 with it. No hassle, I always have the latest version, and I have not noticed any letdown in loading speed, use, or availability.

I switched over to 365 about 2 years ago. 5 licenses. Works for me. Never had to worry about it - always updated. And it's relatively cheap as I use multiple devices. And I work in the cloud which is the key to total file freedom.

I was just going to upgrade from Office 2003 lol! I was going to buy the bundle upgrade & it was reasonable. This was just over the last few weeks. There are a few other things thrown in their now that I have no idea what they are.

I use it and it works just fine... much easier than buying office products that get out of date and are no longer supported. Overall, costs about the same to pay an annual fee as to buy an update every four years or so.

Some parts of it I love, not as stable as I would expect though.

I got a free subscription, and a 5 computers for $99 deal after that, seemed pretty reasonable.

Yes. My company provides it so I can't compare cost but when we went to 365 I gained seamless interfacing with several apps I use regularly plus a good calendar, task list and other features I find are big time-savers.

Personally, I prefer buying the software.  The benefit, of course, to subscription is you are always using the latest version of the software without having to pay additional for an upgrade.

365. YES! Why?

You can load it on FIVE puters. (from Best Buy)

AND......

Because it is online, the security updates are always current.

Windows defender, VPN and Edge (all included in 365) have proven very robust. SO robust the Chinese gov wants VPN outlawed.

But It a great idea to have OPEN OFFICE loaded and ready to rock should things go badly with Microsoft.

Negatives:

Cortana you can't shut it up or remove it.

File seach is done via Cortana which misses 90% of your files and offers 1,000,000 web matches instead.

So I had to download EVERYTHNG (a desktop search app that finds EVERYTHING) to find those 'gone missing' files. You know the one I refer to. You click save and it goes to picts intestald of the c/clients/123 Main Street, Abernathy 2017 folder.

I have both Office 365  < love it . I will admit I had a small learning curve with the Cloud, but once I learn and understood the concept it the only way to go.   I type a document  at work and open it at home and make changes.  Go back to the office and open it and there updated and ready for more work. No servers required it is all done in the cloud.

Before the cloud our office did not share the network with all computer  for virus reasons. Now no matter what computer i am on I have access to both my document and Office to read and update them.

I opted to not renew my subscription this year. I have been using Apple Pages & Numbers this past year. I do miss having Publisher with 365, but hated paying the $100 each year. I would recommend buying the software so you do not have to keep up with the subscription each year.
