I always have and still do think those meetings are a waste of time.  Rarely, if ever, had I ever attended a meeting that I felt had value.  I've independent now, have been for 5 years.  I have no agents, by choice. I love flying solo.

1) My broker and I.  No staff meetings, we talk when we need to.

2) Most people hate meetings, I'd suspect 20% or so show up.  Many agents don't work from the office.

3) Not a clue.  I think offices like KW and Coldwell Banker are more likely to have staff meetings than a Remax.

There are 355 agents and we do not have sales meetings.  My previous brokerage had meetings and about 1/2 of the agents showed up.  I think quarterly meetings are good but every month gets a little excessive.

My brokerage has thousands of agents in California.  It's so big when the Los Angeles County division has meetings it needs to be divided into different times.   These meetings for agents are rare although there seems to be no lack of meetings for management and office staff.

We have an office meeting weekly whether there needs to be or not. There are approximately 100 agents in my office and I would say participation (attendance) ranges from about 25 to 30% most weeks.

I'm an independent contractor and not on staff -- meeting attendance is encouraged but not mandatory(there is even language to the effect in each announcement).

In my previous brokerage - a large boutique firm -  meetings were also held weekly with about the same percentage in attendance.

As far as size is concerned in relation to meetings -- no clue but I think most people tire quickly of meetings that held for the sake of having a meeting...I don't need a donut but I do appreciate good information.

I don't think size is the dictator to whether there are meetings or not, it is the management and how effective their systems are.

The company I am with has them every 3 months or so and about half attend. Some companies in my area have them every week, others every other week and some once a month.

Home is where the hearth is.

We have over 100 agents in our office.

We have a monday morning meeting (not staff) weekly

We have about a 50-60% turnout most weeks (it may vary some in the Summer)...

The first monday of each month, the office supplies breakfast, so attendance increases slightly.

1. used to mangae two offices, one with 55 and one with 25. Meetings averaged 90% attendance.

2. meetings are on a downturn and probably only half of the offices have regular meetings.

3. I think the chemstry of the office determines the effectiveness of a meeting.

My office is about 60 agents, more than half show up for the weekly "Mandatory" meeting. Breakfast is supplied by the company. Given the complexity of the NYC market it makes sense to have weekly meetings for many agents. We also have guest speakers come to some of the meetings - movers, painters, furniture rental companies, attorney's, etc. Since this is a collaborative environment, I attend because agents often ask for my help- and occassionally are willing to bring me in to share with their deals.

I have four people in my office every day (property management) and one that works from home. I've had as many as six total. We tried meetings but they weren't often enough to really get the information we needed. And one of the agents, the busiest one at the time, failed to show up for over half of them so it was worthless.

1. 160 at last count. Meeting occur annual.y. Everyone shows up for this all expenses paid, end of year celebration.

2. All brokerages who believe their agents need to be micro-managed, usually under the guise of "MORE TRAIN'N' require weekly or monthly meetings. These franchises are easily identified and typically include a deeper reach into the agents pocket..

3. Who is more likely? Depends on the VISION of the broker. Most lack vision, but do have a need to control.

The question that must be asked is 'What is the purpose of the staff meeting?" "How does this really benefit the real job of the agent?" The visionary broker will SEE the potential of the agent and embrace the responsibility to empower the agent to break their bondage of doubt and cross the horizon ahead. There are many ways to do this, but they all require committed leadership.
