Tasteful gimmick?
I like creativity in marketing and strategies but the idea of a tasteful gimmick almost sounds like an oxymoron. At least to me.
It all depends on your intended audience and if they will "get it" along with understanding there is a product/service being offered. It would be a shame if it is merely clever but forgettable.
This could be an interesting article. Good luck.

That's a pretty broad question. What are you trying to attract attention for, who are you trying to attract it from, etc.
A good rule of thumb is no puppybabymonkey. 3:)

Luke,
I love edgy, silly, etc that attract positive attention. However, given that I don't have any ideas as to what your marketplace is like, I would be doing you a disservice in coming up with something. Each marketplace is distinct, and no one size fits all. A

Researching?? Interesting .... there are plenty of really innovative people out there but why should they show you their wares so to speak? I'm very creative but won't put down a word for my competitors to use.
There is a good side to that though, most agents won't even have the energy to copy something good & distribute it.

I would be careful about being too clever and obscuring your message and your value.

A good gimmick is to have your name tag on your right lapel as you meet face to face with new contacts every day.

I tell many Realtors trying to attract attention to their listing to put on their signs, "This home qualifies for below market interest rates." How does this work? Instead of telling your sellers to lower the sale price, ask if they would consider paying 1 or 2 points to "Buy Down" the Buyer's Mortgage Rate. It works well, especially in PUD areas. Try it. Remember the points are on the mortgage amount not the Sales Price. On a $300,000 mortgage the seller could pay $3,000-$6,000. instead of asking to reduce his sale price $10,000.

Fibs with asterisks get attention - those offers that don't present a true and complete picture until after the poor unsuspecting target has parted with their contact information...

I think I understand your question and could give some suggestions but I don't really like "gimmicks".
There was a REALTOR that went viral because he filmed all his video tours of homes by running through the house quickly and then staging a major fall or accident at the end.
There was another video for a luxury home that went viral. It had two attractive, scantialy clad women that were kidnapped and trapped in the home. They found a cell phone, called their rescuer, and then described the home they were trapped in. Gimmicky, but tacky.

Pretty tough question to answer on such a broad basis. And, by-the-way, I don't think there is such a thing as a tasteful gimmick. Gimmicks are gimmicks. Nothing tasteful about them.

Gimmicky - I'm not sure what you mean but, whatever you do, don't do used-car-salesman gimmicky!
What are you trying to promote? When are you promoting it? What is the price range, etc. There are a lot of factors to consider but, typically an easy to interpret play on words with truthful meaning behind it, is as gimmicky as I'll go!
