Yes... and I've had cross-sales with agents where a TC is involved and they don't have a clue as to what is happening once the file is dropped in the TC's lap. (I just hate it when that happens. And that's when I start calling the agent for everything until he or she gets the hint.)

1.a person who is blamed for the wrongdoings, mistakes, or faults of others, especially for reasons of expediency.

Some folks have a problem with taking responsibility for their actions and their business.

No, I haven't seen this before, but an agent who constantly blames their assistant for everything probably won't have that assistant, or any assistant for long.

LOL! I've had several transactions where the transaction coordinator on the other end was a worthless sacks of carbon and caused more headaches and hassles than they were worth! That's why I don't use TCs.
I've had transactions too where the TC was useless and the other agent even more so! Hence why I love to double side things.

"cross sale"? "challange"?
You are too polite...You really mean "pissed off".
Yes, like most transactions.

Yes, and I remind them that their assistant is not the agent representing the client.

Yes, it's pathetic.
As an owner, I own my teams mistakes and praise them for our victories.
It's a tough role to be a leader, the group gets the wins and you get the blames, but that is (part of) leadership/ownership.

I've never encountered it in real estate but only only a couple agents have assistants. It's a common tactic in every field.

No; however, if that assistant was not licensed I would quickly remind them of that.

Ultimately, she is responsible so the answer is really ridiculous. 'I didn't do it' is a 2nd grade answer.

Some people just can not take responsibilities well, they blame anyone else. I would not be surprised if she goes around and blames you too.

Paul S. Henderson, CRS, REALTOR®, = well said, I don't play the blame game...

Happened this summer and guess what? Her client came to me, the listing agent, for their next purchase. For which I was also the listing agent. It's been a great summer. Keep screwing up, agents, I have no problem with that!!

LOL Dave Halpern has this one right! Sounds to me like the agents has done a terrible job of either training her/his assistant or just a whiner.

I don't play the blame but have run into situations where the assistant did not relay information or dropped the ball. It all worked out in the end.
1,153,733
Paul, the occurrence happens far too often for my liking and not limited to real estate.
4,881,703
I can't say I've heard the blaming but there have been a few cases where a TC made some pretty big goofs, and clearly the agent wasn't monitoring or even aware of what they were doing. It used to happen in the corporate world, too!

no, I can't say that I have...but if we had problems, I'd be dealing directly with the prime agent so there would be no excuses....

Hasn't happened yet, but that agent does not understand that they are ultimately responsible for the failures of an employee.

No, can't say I did but I know lots of people who are always blaming someone else for their mistakes or bad decisions.

Paul S. Henderson, CRS, REALTOR®, Good for you!! It's the licensee who should take responsibility for their actions. This is why most assistants aren't licensed.
