I was there when Ike hit and people stayed. When a massive tornado hit Moore Oklahoma they rebuilt and stayed. Some will always move.

Probably not. Houston is one of the largest cities in the county with many jobs. Those jobs aren't leaving. Many neighborhoods are in flood plains and they have flood insurance for that reason. They know what the possibilities are when buying.

Maybe a few people, but not most. Coming from Florida and their hurricanes didn't make me want to move because of the hurricanes...it was everything else! I can't say I miss the hurricanes though!

I'm sure some will have to but it's the 4th largest city in U.S.

Some will move but many will stay I suspect.

No, most people just rebuild and go on until the next storm

Bad weather/natural disasters are always "the last straw" for some people.

Maybe yes and maybe no Will Hamm. There will be many factors in play, similar to Katrina. Do folks have relatives in another state, do they have the funds to get there, can jobs be left and can new jobs be found. Many different, though pertinent questions. Many will want to stay if family is there and rebuild, and it may depend on the fact if they have experienced this particular situation before. Very tough, very emotional, very expensive, no matter the options one may have . . .

Probably... but at the end of the day most of us live where we do for very specific reasons.

You mean those displaced by Katrina will be heading back to New Orleans? I am sure some will, but those with jobs; unlikely.
4,799,935
Most likely. Probably because of their financial situation more than fright.

Yep. Wyoming is ranked the lowest when it comes to the number of natural disasters but we get one heavy snow and people pack up and leave. More space for me!

Maybe some who not have a really great job or a compelling reason to be there.

It is possible, in the meantime, I am sending prayers and good wishes to everyone there.

It may help them make a decision sooner if they had entertained the idea before.

Hi Will Hamm ! I think they will come back and re-build. Although I have met people who are now here in DFW because of Katrina and they don't want to return.
3,411,821
Perhaps, i think most will stay though, but the final chapter has not yet begun to be written here

Probably a few but, I can't imagine weather would deter long-time residents or those with great jobs in Houston. We all have our occasional bad weather issues.

If the aftermath is like that of Katrina, I would expect the answer is yes.
