Yes. Our buyers with children typically are not our main focus. It becomes retirees or 2nd home buyers.

Not really in downtown Chicago. Maybe a slight surge in June/July for those whose children are entering school for the first time, but most often these are renters!

Buyers looking for homes during the summer because they want to move their family before school starts is just one segment of the market. And this is an annual phenomena. My buyers this summer? Mostly investors.

It usually tends to slow down a little in the week or two before school, then ramp back up in September, but not sure that's the case this year.

Yes, a bit.  Prior to back to school, for the flooring business, it is the busiest time of year (2nd half August) as so many are away and so many people moving into new homes prior to BTS (day or two after Labor Day).

Then, appts slow down for 1-1.5 weeks, then busier...then Jewish holidays, so a bunch put off the work for 2 to 3 weeks, then totally busy/rush from 2nd week October until Weds b4 Thanksgiving.  Same pattern every year...except for when we had the hurricane and freak snow storm in October and places were without power for 1 to 2 weeks and not as busy last year w/ election distraction.

Not especially... it might be quietish this coming week because parents are busy getting their kids acclimated to the new school year and taking the long holiday weekend. But outside of that, it's business as usual for me.

Do you mean the start of the new semester at the Utah School of Real Estate?   I am looking forward to the always inquiring minds of the students and even more so the answers/responses from the ActiveRain membership.

Here's to finding out more about riparian water rights, easements and choosing the right broker.

Seriously -- school is a seasonal influence but there are people who buy/sell year-round.  I'm always in search of the best ways of finding the ones who are ready to make a decision and want to work with me
