There is, they just have to get with the right broker.  At least the Utah students all know about the qualities to look for in a broker!  LOL!!!!

Yes, all new agents have to go through a training class before they can start selling.  Once they finish, they get assigned to a mentor for 6 months.

I was in our Ignite training yesterday and one of the agents spoke up and mentioned that she has been in real estate for 12 years and two different brokerages, yet this is the first time she has been taught how to be a successful agent.

KW, does train their new, and old agents.  That is why I chose them.

There's a reason why nearly 80% of all agents quit in the first year. Lack of training is a big part of that.

Not really.  BAsic licensing covers nothing relating to transactions, negotiation, paperwork,

It does however teach the difference between a ranch and tudor style house, fair housing, agency, but nithing regardign managing a transaction itself.  That is all learned on the job.

I wish they had a internship or experience requirement..

This depends on the brokerage they hang their license. Some offer great training and others very limited. It is a difficult situation when the agent on the other side of a deal is asking our agents for help in their transaction! Always advise them to consult with their managing principal broker, but sometimes that broker is not available.

Thay may not be basic knowledge. I know how to see the public records when thru buying my first property.

I looked into larger brokerages such as KW, c21, Coldwell Banker, which all looked like they provided excellent training to their agents.

Hard for me to say, as I work in a brokerage where we almost never take on a new agent, so our "training" is geared towards the experienced agent.
