All of the above.  Hiring people and getting them to actually DO what they KNOW ... and do it well and one time ... is an ongoing challenge. 

From those choices I would go with # 4

Knowing "how" isn't always enough.   It is necessary to find the right people (who know how) to be part of the big picture.  It requires meshing of talents and personalities.  

The expected outcome would be that the job is done without me ever having to think out their job for them. 

5. They deliver a result better than I ever could and that result is an ROI.

Need more information on the person.  HOW do they know 'how'?  Is it the only 'how' they know?  Are they teachable?  Adaptable?  Hopefully the outcome is #4. -Kasey

There is some of 1,3 and 4 in the right person for the job. My assistant had some skills when I hired her but was willing to learn more and help me grow my business in exchange for money to compensate for her time. She has mastered many skills and can churn out the work like a well oiled machine.
