There are a lot of legs to RESPA...which can reach out and touch everyone in the real estate industry...particularly those that don't understand what it is.
Like all the real estate agents that force buyers and sellers to use their affiliates in exchange for free lunch, gift cards or marketing favors. Or the listing agent who mistakenly thinks they can charge the buyer a transaction fee.
Or the buyers agent who does not know about Tila or why the seller cannot collect on the title re-issue credit at closing.
