Fred, my first thought concerning your headline of Wild Horses attacking a Gator was of the Boise State University football team stomping the University of Florida in Gainsville.  

There is nothing like a mother protecting her young!  

Can't decide whether the horse is brave or foolhardy.

Saw this a bit earlier - always awesome to see animals protect their young.

Large reptilian creatures are big reason I've never considered Florida, myself.

Horse 1 Gater 0   Gater got the golf ball in the last video. Those wild horses mean business & I'm sure they get attacked getting water all the time. Colts could get dragged away also.

I'm not feeling sorry for Mr Gater.

Thinking owning a wild horse in Florida would assist.  Would hate to come upon a gator.

That's pretty wild!!! In all my years of living in Florida, I've never seen a horse attack an alligator before!

I have a condo in Destin and can barely make it down there. I need to be sure to locate a horse.

That is crazy, my first gator sighting and scare was going after a gold ball i hit in the water as i would do in NH where there are no gators. I sure woke up everyone around

I just talked about it with my clients to moved there few years ago. It is nice and more affordable, but you guys have lots of bugs, alligators and big snakes:)

When thinking of reasons to go to Florida my mind generally goes to babes on beaches long before gaters.  For that matter, I really do not ever care to come across one of those things out in the woods or anywhere else.

I knew I liked horses better than gators. Guess the University of Florida students should call themselves wild horses, instead of gators?

I saw that on facebook today. Florida really is unique and while it isn't for everyone, showcasing that uniqueness is part of why Florida sells.

Good for the horse, but the gators would keep me away. I think I would rather deal with the coyotes we have here than the gators!

What a smart horse!  We were working with a Palm Beach agent who had a listing on a huge equestrian estate of 119 acres in Wellington with two lakes, and they used to relocate the gators so that the horses would not get scared.  A

AAHHHH!  RUN.

Nothing surprises me...I watched my 40lb dog take the head clean off a 5 ft. snake, with one bite.   Before Mike could clean it up, the mated snake came and laid on top of the dead snake.  Actually I felt bad.

My kids used to bring home snake eggs to hatch, so I learned that things that crawl are more afraid of you than you are of them.

Funny thing, most out of town buyers ask about tiny lizards getting into their house more than anything big.  We now have a gecko living in our bedroom and both of us have failed trying to catch it. Hope it makes it out.

It is a part of Florida rapidly disappearing because so many from New Jersey move in and want the gators moved out. "I don't want to watch my kids" is what they are explaining.

Don't you love how the onlookers are feeling bad for the gator?  If that horse wasn't there they would have seen that creature in a totally different light.

Holy smokes......that's amazing!  I watched the 2nd video as well about the big hump back gator.  Don't think I'd get as close as those hikers did!
