666 on a "Dead End" street might scare some away, but I've never had a buyer use that excuse.

I had a couple looking for a property without any 4's in the address.  I carefully filtered out properties containing any 4's in the address.

When the clients would ask me why I'd failed to send them certain properties, I'd point out that they each had a 4 in the address.

They fell for a house with the street number 2944.  The wife worriedly said the number translated to "If you don't eat, you'll starve to death."  The husband said "If we don't eat, we will starve to death. But we'll eat." 

And they bought the house. 

No, but I had one who wanted to know if she could change the address.  She was Chinese and some of the numbers in her address were considered bad luck.

Yes it has to face a certain way, cannot have a certain color door & a whole list of other things. I just can't believe that entire countries do not have homes that was west as an example. Doesn't make sense.

Not out here, but in LA I knew people who got address changes so that the address numerologically worked better for them. I have used numerology to select addresses for years--for me and for others.

Yes, like others have said, the number '4' has kept several of my clients from buying. I actually encouraged one of my builders years ago, to have the street number changed with the city so the home would appeal to ALL potential buyers!

I've had a buyer not willing to purchase a home because the street name was the same as her ex! Would not buy the home..found another one that was much better..some times need to pay attention to good or bad Karma.

I have not had any buyer not buy because of the address but have had many buyers comment how they liked the address.

Yes many times. Also, many other factors, such as direction of the stairs to the front door, the way the house is situated on a lot or direction it faces, if it's on a T location, beams, fireplace and many more things one should be aware of. Chinese have a propensity for numbers 6, 8 and 9 and double digits often are more desirable.  All considered lucky numbers in Chinese culture.

Yes, my Asian clients although what is good luck for Chinese, is not for Japanese, due to the double meaning of the way to state the certain numbers  for example in Japanese means death. 

I have had so many Asian clients, I learned Feng Shui and I speak scoshi Nihongo ga.

          Buyer from China asked to back out of the contract.   His father told him the house was facing the wrong direction, it would bring bad luck.  The builder obliged; we sold him another house facing the correct direction!

Has never been a issue for me. Maybe they secretly don't choose a property because of numbers and I would not know.

We haven't had a buyer expressly say they wouldn't buy because of the house number. Could be that some were silent about it.

I did have a buyer not want to view a 13 and then had a perfect home, but it was on a street that had some crime long ago. Although the street goes for miles and one end is night an dday to tee other end, they would not look.

I would purchase a property partially based on the address number(s). Was just looking at one with a single address number of 7... that alone is very desirable, at least for me.

I had a client hack in Boston that refused to look at homes on roads where there was a Dead End sign

Almost!  Buyer was very concerned about the bellicose nature of the street name(Man O War).

I explained that the streets in the subdivision were named with an Equine theme and that the street was named after one of the two greatest race horses in the 20th Century.  The explanation satisfied the buyer and they bought the house.

Yeah, numerology has come up in the past.  Also direction of the home, where the bathroom sat and if it had a traffic street head toward it..

Yes every oncee in a while we have buyers into this stuff. I just show then homes with the numbers that do work for them.

Lynnea - I have not experienced it personally, but I do know some cultures, as well as individuals, have certain beliefs about things that would prevent them from buying certain homes based on their address, the way it was facing, etc.
