I attended a wedding at the Oatlands many years ago , one of our agents, Former NAR Treasurer Bill Armstrong had his ceremony there.

Sounds fun, someone get married there and invite me so i can check them out.

Well, I' ve never been to VA at all, but we also have many venues that can be rented and rented frequently. My client just shared with me that his church was rented for 5 days for a movie shoot. They made a lot of money and because of this they are getting  a new roof. 

I didn't know that about your area but, in Charlotte, we have them as well - in fact, I just recommended the one that I used for my wedding reception to a friend for a special occasion! They are such wonderful places for special events!

I believe tha as many of the historic building in my state are much like that also..

We were at Berkley Plantation last year and they had 2 weddings going on. The staff told us that they stay very busy with special events all year long.

As I have lived in N. Virginia my entire memorable life I was indeed aware of this and there are some great properties to choose from here.

My daughter is being married this fall at the Thomas Birkby House in downtown Leesburg. It is a really cool alternative to the popular wineries or a hotel wedding.
