In California, a licensed real estate broker can list and sell their own property(properties). A real estate salesperson can as well subject to any brokerage rules that may exist. As Alexandra Ron and Alexandra Seigel answered having a California real estate must be disclosed.

Yes, one can list their own property, and it has to be disclosed that you are an agent. We opted to list our home, and our agent still had to disclose that we were real estate broker and agent. A

Yes, but I think it comes down to the question if your E&O Insurance covers it and in most cases the answer is yes. I know some local brokerages don't allow according to conversations I've had with agents on this topic. I personally have bought and sold all of the real estate I own and have owned.

Agents can list their own properties for sale. I would use another agent to list our residence for sale.

In California we can list and sell our own home with full disclosure that we a real estate agent. Some brokerages prohibit it as a matter of policy. E&O coverage may be an issue as well.

You are OK if you disclose. Even if you sell as a FSBO you must disclose on your sign and in your advertisement.

We can sell our own properties, but a wise real estate attorney (that passed) had always said --- do not sell them, hire a REALTOR!

You can, so long as you disclose the fact. I consider myself an excellent listing/marketing agent... why would I give that job to another agent? And how could that agent represent my house better than I?
1,157,841
My province allows agents to list their own property. Disclosures are required.

I do some of each. We each have our specialties and it is best to assign the right job to each person.

Our company does not allow us to list/sell our own property. Not a good idea..have an agent in the office handle it for you. Always have to disclose you are a licensed Realtor.

Yes, we list our own (sold three ourselves in the last few years) but interestingly a couple of years ago we used another agent to be our buyers agent on a HUD home we purchased.

Most E&O insurances forbid an agent from listing their own property. I have no such restriction and would never hire another agent to handle a transaction I could, so long as it was a residential transaction in my area. If I came into a house 2 hours from me, or a plot of land or a commercial structure, I would defer to the experts in those areas.
I've repp'd myself on buying several houses and leasing my rental SFRs out. I would definitely use myself should I ever sell one of my houses. But I am capable of being objective and unemotional. People who aren't capable of treating it like any other listing should not list their own pad.
2,234,761
It's perfectly acceptable to list your own property, but it must be disclosed.

Desmond Neoh It is legal to list/sell your own property; however, E&O insurance may not cover any issues. Disclosure is also required.

I would do either depending on situation and location. Agents here disclose "Owner is Agent" in MLS and all advertising, including if they are selling FSBO without putting it in MLS.
