I knocked very loudly. I shouted "REALTOR!!!" loudly. I shouted it again. I shouted, "Is anyone home?" as I entered the home. Nothing. Two minutes later I heard some noise, looked around the corner, and saw two teens quickly pulling clothes on. Parents were gone and they weren't supposed to be home!

I never have, but let me tell you, I was a judge in a contest here a few years back about Most Embarassing Moments in Real Estate. There were quite a few entries like that.

Yes & the guy was on the throne & would not move or close the door! It was a big master bath & we could see him in the mirros just sitting there. I closed the door on him & of course mentioned it in my feedback.
'owner home, didn't like it'.

Ring the bell three times.
Knock hard on the door.
Open door and Sasquatch shouts, "Remax, anyone home? Remax."
Sasquatch goes first.
Still, some seem to think if they are quiet, we will go away.

Oh yeah, in my first or second year in real estate I brought clients into a home listed as vacant. We went into the maseter bathroom just in time to see a lady walking out of the shower naked. Lesson Learned, ring the doorbell even at a home listed as vacant. Also proceed through the home with caution once entering.

Oh yes... and that is why I always ring the doorbell in an occupied home before going in even if I have a confirmed appointment.

Never did that, but I did show a home once where the seller was passed out in the bed, and the housekeeper said "go on in", she is like that all the time". Needless to say, my buyers did not want to buy that home.

At one one my listings, an agent walked in on my client sleeping (early); I re-set the lock box hours.

Nope, I never got into ''that'' situation. I always announce myself quite loud before opening a property or a closed door...just in case.

I showed a home and there was a naked guy passed out on the couch and a naked women on the bed. It was a rental and I had a feeling tht this wa a ploy to delay a sale.

Had one rental tenant playing hooky from work in bed with her er, a friend with benefts guest smoking, taking a break in aerobics while appraiser and I passed through. In the unit beyond we could hear the circus was back in town next door as the calliope went up and down so to speak.

Yes, it is hard to believe that some people leave their rooms in such a mess. How diffucult is it to make a bed?

Gloria Valvasori I have shown properties with day sleepers, but nothing embarrassing.

Yes, the son of the owner was using the 55+ vacant home for his love nest! The potential buyers in their 70's were interested no more!
989,652
No, but my husband once walked into a house with a lock box he was going to show - he opened the door, yelled inside as he always did "REALTOR" and an old woman came running out at him in a bath robe waving her hands and screaming to the clouds "GET OUT GET OUT INTRUDER"
Funniest story I ever heard!
582,106
Yes. It happened about ten years ago. A couple of teens were unaware that the house was scheduled to be shown.
823,579
Yes and despite all precautions and loud announcements of entering - I have had people coming out of showers, covered up in the rumpled bed etc...
3,416,038
Which is why i always ring the bell, knoch and if i come upon a closed door once inside, knock and yell again.
1,712,676
Nver had that happen. I have had previous disclosure of an older relative being there because of health concerns.
